when the layer of hysteria and anger is thicker and whats under it then there's really no point in digging
even when feminist people have a point the feminazis just use it as damage control
"heyy feminism is about equality, isn't that amazing??"
yes, but are we really the ones who need feminism? do we kill our babies when they are born female? east is what needs feminism, not us

if i can speak from my experience as a female this whole "society views women this way and we should be that way" is bullshit. you don't have to dress ladylike, of course if you dressed ladylike till now people are going to comment on your change of style, but after some time of getting used to they just stop giving a shit, same goes with makeup. "oooh but you look so much better with makeup on" yeah thats probably true, but do whatever feels more comfortable to you, people will stop caring. if you are against something just dont do that shit, people have lives of their own, you're not center of their attention 24/7

if you think that there's nothing of worth in feminism, then you're kinda just proving my point earlier about people not digging deep enough into feminism.
Like I can understand a lot of the problems you talk about that men are facing (domestic abuse, divorce cases, military draft) I just don't agree with your solutions.
We can all learn something from eachother, that's why I'm here, saying that there's nothing of value in either sides is just naive.

r/redpill/ is a weird place. It's basically just a bunch of men trying to hold on to their privilige by complaining about how hard they have it compared to females. I really don't understand those kinda sites. They don't want gender equality, yet they complain about women as being more priviliged than them? That's pretty much the same as shooting yourself in the foot.

hahaha i actually remember itumblr from back in the days when i browsed fj a lot.
But seriously people like itumblr are part of the problem, they're just trying to create a strawman, and you're all falling for it. When you say feminism is retarded and is making itself an easy target, you're talking about the strawmen posted here on funnyjunk.
And try to understand I'm really not trying to insult you here, because I agree that some feminists really can make it fucking hard for others to take feminism kindly. But the thing is, that it's a part of feminism to be provocative.
I remember there was this article (not really an article a more personal thing but i forgot what it's called in english) that was published some years ago in a big "lefty" newspaper in Denmark. The "article" was about a women (the writer) who had a bad day or something. And then when she's on her way home or something, a homeless man tells her to smile, since shes frowning becuase her day sucks and so on. She reacts by yelling at the homeless guy, that she doesn't want to fucking smile or something along those lines.
Now that's the part I remember the clearest from that article, an angry feminist yelling at a homeless man, and that's the part that caused a whole lot of debate back in little denmark. But everyone forgot what the article was actually about. The article was about women always being told how to dress and how to act and how to smile by society, and she had some really good points, but it all got lost in the angry feminist debate it caused. I of course dont condone her yelling at a homeless guy, and personally believe that she should have handled the situation differently, but the "problem" is that many feminists are young and they're angry (with every right to be), and honestly some of them are a bit dim :pp
What I'm trying to say is you need to look past this narrow view of feminism as men-hating hysterical females, and actually try to understand what they're trying to say, even if it's burrowed under a thick layer of hysteria and anger.

well true feminism wouldn't want any special priviliges for women if it's supposed to be a gender-equal world, and I said that feminists would probably accept the possibility of being drafted as a price of gender-equality (but i would assume that most feminists would just be against the concept of military draft in all cases), but ofc some people are always gonna have double standards

something tells me you are dead wrong...oh yeah thats right the draft. now that women can be drafted just like men, suddenly equality isnt such a good thing for them.

here in ny you pretty much guarantee women get at least half. there is no "life of oppression" bullshit. i think you are the one in need of reality check. 97% of alimony payments are made by men

There aren't any feminists saying no to equality, like i dont get wtf you and this post is trying to say.
You're implying that women don't want to have equality, just so they can keep the very few priviliges they have in a man-dominated world.

Yes, the drafting system is sexist, seeing that it only counts for men.
But the way you talk about being drafted makes it sound like you think it's a bad thing (which I also personally believe it is), and if it's such a bad thing, why not remove it entirely instead of using it as a way of scaring women away from gender equality (which I can assure you is not gonna happen).
Again, every problem you mention is created by men, and can only be fixed by men.
#220 - lostabyss (07/26/2016) [-]
