Japanese Characters: あいうえお
Korean Characters: ㄱㄻㅅㅏㅙ

See the difference?

Aren't the japanese characters you posted A I U E O? I'm glad I'm actually learning something

Those are indeed A I U E O.

Good luck on learning Kanji, and Particles: they are both bitches to learn.

Kanji isn't so bad if you learn it the right way. Google "wanikani".

I have a generally bad memory, so kanji is a bitch for me since it relies on memorization more than any sort of pattern.

Google wanikani. It's a site that teaches kanji a little differently than normal. It makes it much easier.

do anons get notifications now, or do you just keep this open in a tab to see if I reply?

What are particles?

Wa, ga, no, de, (w)o, to, (h)e, etc

They're basically connecting words with one syllable each. The closest equivalent in English are words like "The", "And", "To", etc.

So have you learned japanese? If so how did you? The website I'm using I think it only teaches you the characters and how to write/pronounce them, not the meanings

I'm still far from fluent in Japanese, but my Highschool had Japanese as an elective: so I've taken 3 semesters of Japanese classes. The rest I've learned from anime, and an add-on called "PeraPera-kun" (which tells you how to pronounce, the meaning, etc of Japanese text when you hover over it with your mouse).

Unless korean uses the same characters, then no,this is japanese. 3rd letter is u, 10th is ka, that's all I recognize since I just started and I've only been learning Hirigana

Is that cat drunk? For some reason it reminds of a drunk cat. Either way your gif made me laugh. Here's another cat for you.
