Yes, you have the right to stay silent, but if you are intentionally pretending to be deaf and the cop finds out you are faking, then you are obstructing his official duties. I'm sorry, I thought felony meant the same thing as illegal.

§ 16-10-24 - Obstructing or hindering law enforcement officers
O.C.G.A. 16-10-24 (2010)
16-10-24. Obstructing or hindering law enforcement officers

(a) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (b) of this Code section, a person who knowingly and willfully obstructs or hinders any law enforcement officer in the lawful discharge of his official duties is guilty of a misdemeanor.

(b) Whoever knowingly and willfully resists, obstructs, or opposes any law enforcement officer, prison guard, correctional officer, probation supervisor, parole supervisor, or conservation ranger in the lawful discharge of his official duties by offering or doing violence to the person of such officer or legally authorized person is guilty of a felony and shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by imprisonment for not less than one nor more than five years.

Doesn't get much clearer than that.

thanks, i was going to look it up, but you still can't read, it says misdemeanor, it says it right in the definition you brought, a misdemeanor is not a felony. that being said, you could refuse to talk with the cop entirely, you have the right to have your attorney presen while. being questioned, so you could simply ask for your attorney to be there, and save yourself that charge.

By pretending you're deaf you are making their job harder than necessary. Which is a felony.
User avatar #165 - silverzepher (2 hours ago) [-]
and as for making someone's job have than necessary being a crime, than i have 100's ofpeople who need to be arrested.
User avatar #164 - silverzepher (2 hours ago) [-]
you use that word, and i hope you mean it in the Old definition, that being "a serious crime" and not the current definition "punishable by over 12 months in prison, or applicable to the death penalty", making someone's his difficult isn't a crime, while they might have you on waste of police recourses, but that would most likely be considered a misdemeanor in a case of pretending to be deaf, and would just be another fine, or if you had someone called it to sign for you maybe probation as well. Ya he would be posted, but if you are already in his bad side, you wouldn't really care more would you? i don't recommend it, but it is not me we are talking about.

Lying to a police officer? Yeah, you can get in trouble for that.
User avatar #160 - silverzepher (2 hours ago) [-]
depends on what it is about, i could lie to them by saying i am headed home, they wouldn't give me a ticket for that, if they had to call someone it to sign for you it would be a waste if police recourses, but that would only happen if they actually had someone called our to do it. you do not have to answer anything without a layer present, even whilepulled under they don't have the right to do whatever they want, if he is going to let you iff with a warning no harm done, if he is going to call someone, then you fees up, you just waded a bit of his time.

you were the closest to dubs when you rolled so i'm giving the bar name to you.

but you get to choose whether you want it to be a bar or a pub or a brewery or whatever other variation of the word bar there is :3

also your name is a little long so i'm shortening it to zepher's is that ok?
User avatar #9 to #8 - silverzepher (11/23/2013) [-]
would prefer Szeph's, or the EE's(east empire's but it doesn't seem to open west, and what the sun rise from behind it) but either way, a pub would work best, and is it on a server?
User avatar #10 to #9 - blackholedragon (11/23/2013) [-]
