I get that he didn't do that, which is why I criticized that, and I wrote he didn't do anything to really advocate for communism. He didn't offer or advocate an alternative.
Given that this is on a post about how communism sucks and he launched into a diatribe about capitalism, read between the lines a little. The context implies some possible reasons for his post. He might think communism is better, he might think that communism and capitalism are equivalent, or other reasons. I'm working off the context here which implies a comparison with communism.
Socialism is better than hyper-capitalism yes. Got to do my undergrad through government payment and my masters was under 10k. To get the same standard of education in US it would be ~150k considering I went to the two best universities in my country. Also when I was a child I had cancer and I came from a working class family, I would have died or burdened my family with a large debt which on top of the stress of your child having cancer in the US should be unacceptable (Roughly $35,000 for decreased fee patients, usually >50k).
So I have very heartfelt reasons for believing in what I say, no matter how much this website insists on kicking and screaming for their ruler's right to exploit the masses.
I am very aware that I am writing this for myself though because most people on this website are so indoctrinated that it is literally like shooting a lump of shit at a wall.
I don't think anyone is going to disagree with your experiences or say that the tangible results and services for people that you want is wrong. I think we'd all want that.
People should have their medical needs cared for even if they're poor. People should have reasonable medical bills not a bloated, red tape covered, mess. People should have the opportunity to pursue a higher education without it costing them exorbitant amounts.
It sounds like what you want is a capitalist mixed market economy with strong safety net and social democratic leanings. I'm not even against that, just be aware it's not perfect and to be best it will depend on very good leadership and oversight by the public (public oversight seems so difficult nowadays).
What you want is also completely different from one party tyranny without a constitution and little to no economic and personal freedom that you'd see in communism.
The US has made a mess of health care and higher education, while their outcomes can be great they have so many financing and efficiency issues. It's not capitalism alone that makes it awful though. The political system favors bribery and corruption. Less corrupt political leadership and better public oversight would change this. In fact other countries, like my own Canada, can have issues with health care costs and education even though they're much more generous, with a political class seemingly less reliant on campaign donations (and better at balancing budgets). We still have a mixed market economy, and that's still capitalism.
We can talk about that more if you want to discuss fixing legislation, political corruption, and efficiency problems. A good system isn't just about giving you goods and services and making others pay for it or the public going into debt for it. A good system should deliver good results and be fair, practical, and efficient.
