Just a young guy here to laugh & see cool stuff.

Oh and just so we're clear, the name may seem confusing to most, because most people wont realize it's Japanese. It means "Hand of Death."

I can vouch for the making him proud aspect. I lost my dad at 13 (28 now) and I spent a lot of time thinking of the things he would want for me in life. It robbed me of my childhood. I was forced to mature so fast. Started picking up a job at 14 to help mom out with the bills and food. Learned to cook so she could relax after getting home from her second job. Went to the military to become "a real man". Spent a lot of time just thinking of ways to make him proud. Bottom line is live your life well and become a decent person and that will honor his memory.

No, man go visit France or the Rhineland, not that much more bright, although one is much more arrogant. We're not even exceptionally fat, just check out England.

you realize in japan if you do something the piss off your boss or someone in the company, they have a special set of jobs that they transfer you to and you basically sit around doing nothing or some menial job until you get discouraged and quit yourself. the reason is that if they fire you they have to give you certain benefits that they don't if you just quit.
User avatar #38 - feffog (12/22/2014) [-]
nothing says muh freedoms like living in a right to work state, when they dont have to have a single reason to fire you, at a job, thats minimum wage,

it also helps that there are piles and piles at appplications for these shit jobs, and a replacement is a phonecall away, because most places never throw out the apps they just let them pile endlessly

"Freedom isn't free" isn't just an expression. Just because you were born in the United States doesn't mean you're free. You still have to earn it through either building a business or saving up enough money to become financially independent.
#106 - swagbot (17 hours ago) [-]
Some1 is missing the point of that phrase... and of the meaning of the word 'freedom'.

my buddy luke works 60 hours a week with overtime, and part time general labor, he cant afford can afford either an apartment or food, its getting more and more difficult every year to make ends meat, i get where youre coming from, but theres still the point america is starting to shit on the poor, health care is fucking my family over at the moment
User avatar #59 - playerdous (23 hours ago) [-]
60 hours a week means $507 at the absolute minimum minimum wage.
If he's a waiter then it's less but tips outweigh the difference.
I don't know how your friend spends his money but he's making $25k a year.

America is the land of opportunity
Your friend can have roomates and split the bill.
Use public transit or even a bike.
Beans, potatoes, and rice are cheap sources of food.

There is no excuse besides health and your friend does general labor so he's fine.
#89 - feffog (19 hours ago) [-]
60 hours a week, beans for life, and room mates till your 30,

livin the dream

In america that real wage is about 200 to 300 dollars, I make 700 every two weeks before taxes, after taxes its about 450.Rent in shitty north minneapolis is 613 a month, takes about 3weeks to pay a months rent.Little money for car, insurances and food. America is shit if you are poor, you will need to work your life away to make ends meet, And college is unafordable for the vast majority of people.
User avatar #66 - playerdous (22 hours ago) [-]
This is what's wrong with all of you, people used to work to live.
You would work from day break to sunset and that was life.
My dad ate nothing but potatoes for months while living with my uncle when they first moved out. He's never had more than $2k at a time.

You just started working, you're not gonna make the big money now. Maybe not ever, but you work and get experience and become valued.

His friends real wage is about $400 a week, so $20k a year + tax returns.

Do not give me that peasant bullshit, There is no reason I work my ass off for shit pay when there are assholes at the top who do fuck all and make bank. I am on the verge and have been for awhile, debt is adding and I am about one bad day away from just killing every god dam rich person I know and see. I can not start a family with no money. I can not move out of this ghetto fuck neighborhood with no money. I can not eat healthy with no money. I can not enjoy life with no money. So what is my fucking motivation for living? Because I sure as fuck can not find any. And you can bet your ass that if I am going to go I am taking a few with me. Rich people are fucking greedy filth and they deserve to die.
User avatar #68 - playerdous (22 hours ago) [-]
"Rich people are fucking greedy filth and they deserve to die."
Right, you complaining about money isn't being greedy.

We all have shit to deal with in life, no exceptions.

You wanna eat healthy, eat beans, rice, beats, carrots, and broccoli all cheap healthy food.

You wanna start a family, do it. The gov will cut you slack and even help you. Companies see family men as a good source of labor and will pay you more.

Your problem is comparing others wealth to your own as a source of happiness.

Also if the government helps families like you say why is 1 in 5 kids homeless in this city and 1 in 30 in this shit country?

Because no system is perfect.
#70 - anonymous (22 hours ago) [-]
It is easy to say that when you are on the other side. And the government does not really cut families a break in Minnesota anymore as well as most states, I can only claim children on my taxes once even if I have more its still just 1, which is about 13 dollars a pay check. America is a huge piece of shit country and I would leave, but I have tried and it is as hard as fuck to get citzenship in europe chile Brazil or argentina. And I have no intention of going to a country as fucked or more fucked than the usa.
User avatar #73 - playerdous (22 hours ago) [-]
You have 49 other states to choose from, America is nothing but opportunity and you're just wasting it.

I realize your outlook on life is your biggest problem.
Deal with it.
#76 - anonymous (22 hours ago) [-]
You are so full of shit its unbelievable, that or you just have not excpiernced the real world yet. There are jobs in other states I have taken them, they are part time despite being over 40 hours a week, no benifits and mostly temporary or extremely dangerous. The god dam unions dont even protect the workers anymore. It seems only the already well connected and rich are able to get decent jobs and go to school.
User avatar #77 - playerdous (22 hours ago) [-]
I work in a right to work state, fuck your unions. They cause more harm then good.

Getting a good job is about having guts, connections, or skills. All are indicators to possible employers.

If you don't have the above then work your ass off, that's why me, my father, and my grandfather did.

7.25 an hour in the USA
User avatar #41 - Chubs (12/21/2014) [-]
depends on the state, for example, oregon is nearing $9/hour, while montana is closer to $7
#85 - anonymous (23 hours ago) [-]
The minimum for every state is $7.25. If the state's minimum wage is lower than the federal, the federal wins out.
#34 - anonymous (12/21/2014) [-]
any worker who's worth anything makes more than minimum wage
