#67 - Funny, I like how you think you can deny a CO's direct command…  [+] (19 new replies) 01/17/2014 on "Bravery" 0

They support it by joining the armed forces. They know they can't go against orders when they join up but they join anyway. Any idiot with half a brain can see the US wages wars of aggression ever since wwii so they know what they're doing when signing up and they are supporting the disgusting tradition of modern US foreign policy.
User avatar #73 - sheathedfang (01/17/2014) [-]
Let me ask you a question, if we were to completely dissolve our military and cast all federal military jobs aside where will they all go for jobs?
User avatar #74 - danmanjonesnz (01/17/2014) [-]
Are you saying they have no choice but to join?
User avatar #76 - sheathedfang (01/17/2014) [-]
Of course not, but our economy itself is in complete shambles as we speak and supporting a family and preserving oneself will always come first it's natural instinct. To judge someones character because they choose to support the federal government despite its shortcomings. The only reason I wrote what I did was because he said people who invade another country aren't heroes when you don't know why that person joined in the first place. Would it be more heroic to join under the pretense you are protect your country (without shooting innocent civilians overseas) or is it more heroic for your family of 5 to slowly descend into poverty until they perish into nothing, that isn't a nurturing environment at all.
User avatar #77 - danmanjonesnz (01/17/2014) [-]
They are supporting the invasions. Most of them don't have a family before they join. They join because they need a job and have no moral objection to what they're going to be told to do. Some have pressure from their family to join I guess. Mainly though, they have no better alternative. It's still a choice that each and every one of them make. There hasn't been any excuse since they were drafted for the invasion of Vietnam.
User avatar #80 - sheathedfang (01/17/2014) [-]
You can't condemn an entire group of people because it's majority do something. I wasn't supporting what they do. My point was you can't just say they aren't heroes because they are invading another country. Sure maybe some aren't but to condemn them all is just unfair. Oh boy funnyjunk says African Americans steal stuff they are all robbers and thieves, to generalize in itself is an act of ignorance.
User avatar #81 - danmanjonesnz (01/17/2014) [-]
I'm not condemning anyone. I'm saying they support the US foreign policy which is an asshole policy to say the least. And they aren't fucking heroes jesus christ. A more heroic action to me would be to live a life that doesn't rely on such a morally corrupt & generally shitty lifestyle to make money. One that takes more effort. Any idiot can join the armed forces and go blow up brown people. Heroes? That would be funny if it wasn't so morbid.
User avatar #82 - sheathedfang (01/17/2014) [-]
lol....I'm not condemning people.... proceeds to make an entire comment about condemning the military as nonheroic people who kill brown people. May I ask you what your job is an if you are american/foreign?
User avatar #84 - danmanjonesnz (01/17/2014) [-]
are you saying that not considering them herows is the same as condemning them?

Man you yanks are a brainwashed lot.
User avatar #85 - sheathedfang (01/17/2014) [-]
Saying yanks, I am assuming you are British, sorry I forgot after revolting against your country establishing freedom we also changed up the language a bit. Let me go ahead and post what condemning means
sentence (someone) to a particular punishment, esp. death.
express complete disapproval of, typically in public; censure.
So yes by calling them non heroes you are branding them and condemning the armed forces as idiots.
User avatar #88 - danmanjonesnz (01/17/2014) [-]
I'm not British but the fact that you grew up in USA is plainly obvious.
User avatar #89 - sheathedfang (01/17/2014) [-]
Funny I grew up in Germany. Yet again making assumptions without accurately knowing a person, just like how you say everyone in the AF is nonheroic idiots, who support a corrupt federal government. It's quite funny by your logic you are saying we should all throw out the federal government revert back to armed militia and state law, and stop paying for taxes since our taxes not only support the state but also our U.S. foreign policy. By your logic all Americans are nonheroic idiots. Inb4 I didn't say that
User avatar #92 - danmanjonesnz (01/17/2014) [-]
they simply aren't heroes, how hard is that to accept?
I guess we both made stupid assumptions. You'v obviously been brainwashed by US propaganda though
User avatar #94 - sheathedfang (01/17/2014) [-]
I didn't make any assumptions what so ever other than assuming you were from England since you used the word yank which is typical of an English person. Also yes it is hard to accept, I won't accept something a random person who probably has no military background nor social interaction and gets most of their facts from media not only stating something as an absolute fact/truth but also blames me for being brainwashed as if they aren't supporting anti-military as if it's not the same thing just believing in another thing.
User avatar #95 - danmanjonesnz (01/17/2014) [-]
You're insisting that people who are in the US military are heroes. They're not.
User avatar #98 - sheathedfang (01/17/2014) [-]
I'm glad you have personally went back and forth throughout the world watching every move of every U.S. military personnel in order to judge their character and classify them as non heroes, you deserve a medal for that amount of work
User avatar #96 - sheathedfang (01/17/2014) [-]
Not anywhere in this conversation did I say all military people were heroes, I have been pointing out you can't condemn them all as non heroes stop trying to find flaws the context of what I am saying, because no where did I state they were all heroes. You are the one dealing in absolutes here.
User avatar #100 - danmanjonesnz (01/17/2014) [-]
You: "My point was you can't just say they aren't heroes"
Me: Yes I can. They aren't heroes. They maybe your heroes. That's kinda pathetic IMO but you can believe whatever you want.

Not all soldiers are heroes. Plenty of them join just so they can shoot a gun.
User avatar #91 - sheathedfang (01/17/2014) [-]
I never said they were all heroes, just that you can't condemn them all as if you know them.
User avatar #233 - pokemonstheshiz (01/17/2014) [-]
he didn't condemn them, he just said that they weren't automatically heroes.
I personally don't support people simply for the fact that they're in the army, I judge them for how they act.
User avatar #424 - sheathedfang (01/17/2014) [-]
he didn't leave any room for exceptions in his statement he said soldiers that take part in an invasion aren't heroes. I could be wrong and if I am he didn't deserve what I said, but he didn't comment back so..... I can't apologize, but if you are right then I would of course apologize
User avatar #99 - mcroflskates (01/17/2014) [-]
Fair enough.
#68 - xxxsonic fanxxx (01/17/2014) [-]
" there are soldiers there doesn't give middle eastern people reason to shoot them "

Yeah, sure , they should welcome you and tell you OLAAAAAI COME TAKE OUR RESOURCES AND RAPE OUR WOMEN AND FUCK OUR COUNTRY UP, WE REALLY WANT YOU TO DO THAT.

and you fucking say that your fucking army dont shoot civilians ?? WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK .... try googling or something you brain fart

and you fucking talking about ignorant people.
User avatar #70 - sheathedfang (01/17/2014) [-]
Yes, because googling things automatically makes you less ignorant or more educated on a matter, I bet you believe aliens are real since you read it on the internet. When did america begin raping muslim women. Just because we occupy a country doesn't give anyone the right to shoot someone in the face. I didn't say anything about whether or not I support what is being done in the middle east, I merely reacted to someone character judging soldiers because they are occupying another country, he has no right brand an entire division of people. Also log in and say that like a man?
User avatar #64 - danmanjonesnz (01/17/2014) [-]
Of course they support the invasion, the US armed forces are 100% voluntary. They support it all the way over there on the plane/ship and all the way into other people's cities. They may not agree with aspects of US foreign policy but to say they don't support it is ludicrous.
User avatar #67 - sheathedfang (01/17/2014) [-]
Funny, I like how you think you can deny a CO's direct command in the army without getting penalized for it. Sure joining the army is 100% voluntary you are correct I never said it wasn't, however our foreign policy is enforced by Officers who in turn command their troops just because someone joins the army and gets sent to invade doesn't mean they support it, there are most definitely people who join in order to have a government job supported by the federal government. How many people have you spoken to that qualifies you to judge anyone in the U.S. AF.
User avatar #72 - danmanjonesnz (01/17/2014) [-]
They support it by joining the armed forces. They know they can't go against orders when they join up but they join anyway. It's 3 am here and considering I have to get up at 5 anyway sleep is no option right now.
And I'm slowly working on getting over all of the bullshit my father put me through, and it's gotten better over the years (I stopped speaking to him when I was 13, as I was about 5000% done with him) But I still have some kinks to work out.
Also, you're right about my fiance having me in mind when he decided to go into the military. I tend to turn to art when I'm stressed or down, immersing myself in my work and fantasy helps me forget.

I enjoy hugs too. As well as Calvin and Hobbes.
#9 - sheathedfang (09/23/2013) [-]
Sleep is important, and wow what a shame this is the first friend request I've received on funnyjunk....huh. Yea, like I said everyone has their kinks I have pretty much the same issue but with my mom, but in the end I choose to live by the fact your family doesn't choose you. You choose your family... to elaborate although we are born into a family, our true family is the people we choose to acknowledge as our own. In the end I feel those you choose > those who think they are entitled to your affection because you are related. In the end it's about those you care for and the small things they do for you that matter. Just live by the mentality that I do, which is I am awesome and anyone who thinks differently can go find some other amazing person to spend their time with.

Pic related, that's me with my new shades.

Your mistake was thinking I am a human!. But yeah, I am sure you would do the same. Someone with a name as cool as WHYTEMANE must be just as awesome, if not more awesome than myself.

Technically I'm a Navy brat but my mum left my dad when I was young so I never really got used to the lifestyle, and because my dad is an abusive asshole I have some major baggage with military/ certain military personnel. I'm working through all that though..

The only problem with the whole keeping busy ordeal is that I hate my job, I have one friend I actually hang out with and she's busy a lot, and I'm extremely introverted so the most socialisation I do is through internet.
But I'll probably just end up devoting most of my time to sculpting.

By the way, I'd probably hug you if you in front of me and you said that. Not meaning to be creepy..

On a side note this gif. sums up how I feel about my fiance leaving for the military. I want to be proud and happy but everything else is getting in the way.

Yeah, sorry about the English it's 2 A.M. and I have college to get to in the morning bleh. Navy/Army/etc.etc it doesn't matter we all go through the same ordeal. The thing you have to remember is everyone has their faults and everyone has their rough patches. What makes us the person we are is how we take those abusive relationships and mold ourselves into better people. Your fiance is doing what they are doing because in the end they feel it is right, and definitely has you in their mind when making decisions like that. Honestly sculpting is a good thing to do, as long as you remain busy. But, I can't stress it enough how you have to make sure you keep talking and talking and not shutting down on yourself. Major problems when it comes to things like these are the person because so inner on themselves and so lonely that they back lash. You just have to remember there are always people around that can sympathize and share your feelings with so never never regress into solitude because as humans we are symbiotic. Trust me, I have been there my mom left my dad while I was 16 and then my father passed away on active duty from a bad heart afterwards and to much stress in training so I lived virtually on my own since 16 in a foreign country, with people I barely knew. You're going to feel bad but it's what you don't do while feeling bad that is key. Also I always enjoy hugs.

I like that mentality.

And those are pretty epic shades.

Just remember there are people there for you if you need them. Including myself if you check a down or just find yourself needing someone to talk to feel free to message. I think it's time for this procrastinator to go to sleep, he has work to do tomorrow last minute. And some exams to take as well. It was great meeting you regardless or not of the circumstances. Have a great day dractheripper!

Pic again related it's me going into my engineering exams.
