Why exactly can't it be "forced" on children? You can force tons of things on children, many of which are completely unethical. All veganism is is a dietary preference.

Many of which should be banned.

I am aware, but veganism isn't one of them. Wanting to eat grass is a perfectly acceptable life choice. In fact I'd argue that it beats the current standard of blending down mcdonalds chicken nuggets into a baby bottle.

Babies can't survive on grass though
I think parents should be forced to feed their kids properly either way, but that's just me. I don't really have anything against veganism other than vegans.

Typically babies drink milk, which is perfectly vegan if it comes from the mother.

I think parents should be able to make bad decisions, freedom is sorta great.

Freedom is great when it doesn't affect other chronically.

Indeed, but if you stop them feeding their kids as they want then sooner or later someone will come by to take their freedom to be taught by you etc.

vegan bodybuilder in the Olympics says otherwise. The biggest problem is people with no concept of nutrition attempting to go vegan (like how i imagine these parents are), as it takes a fair amount of knowledge and a ton of effort to properly balance a diet without meat. But no government is teaching kids in schools how to be vegan, and few older people are motivated to learn, so you get a lot of stupid malnourished people instead.

but once a child is weaned off breastmilk they are able to survive on a vegan diet assuming it actually consists of all those things people need to survive (which plants can and do provide.) A vegan diet isn't an omnivorous diet but with only plants. Its very different. (for instance, a vegan likely needs more meals per day, as plants won't shove as much energy into your body in a short amount of time as meat would. think of a lion eating 66 pounds of meat per day, then not eating for several days vs a cow grazing grass 6 hours every day)

Why would it kill them?

Nutrition and the right nutrition is important, vegan diets are fatal to children as it does not give them the the stuff they need to develop. Its a rather simple concept when you think of it.

You can get the same amount of nutrition from a vegan diet the same as a omnivorous one. But I'm not certain if the same applies to developing children, as meat is an easier source of protein for the body.

What things don't they contain specifically? Because I can't think of anything, and this is born out by the fact that vegans don't drop like flies.

There's a difference between a fully grown person on a vegan diet and a developing child on a vegan diet....

Why? According to vegans there's nothing present in animals that's not present in some plants; and until they're proven wrong I'm inclined to believe them.
