he's playing devil's advocate on FJ where we all deride those who turn to Feminism and social justice to avoid personal responsibility. saying that it's likely you would do the same thing if the sides were reversed is playing devil's advocate to a degree.

I've lost count of the times I've seen the argument "you're only a feminist because you're fat and have a horrible personality."

It's not a very good argument in the first place, but in some cases it is true.

It's not playing the devil's advocate if you use the same arguments as the people arguing against those you play advocate for.

Depending upon your body. I eat ~2200 to run a 500 calorie deficit, my wife needs to run ~1600 to maintain weight (when not breast feeding, currently the requirement is more like ~2000 to maintain).

This is true, the heavier you are, the greater the amount of calories you burn. A person who is 200 pounds will burn close to 100 calories every hour of sleep. Male and female will also burn different amounts and the more active you are the better. Point is, you can lose weight in three ways, eat less, move more, or eat less while moving more.
