Yeah, siege of Stormwind would be a good opener, as well as setting the tone for the oncoming surge of the Horde up to Lordaeron, but Anduin and Varian really are bit players in the whole thing, and Thrall is just a bab at the time. You've got the betrayal in Altarac, Zul'aman getting freaky with Silvermoon, you get the idea. It'd be a right waste to just ignore the second war.

I dunno if 'Beyond the Dark Portal' will get a film though. It doesn't need to be a film as the events are mostly unconnected to the main narrative and they don't play out in a very film-y fashion even for an RTS.

Warcraft Three alone could comfortably seat at least eight movies. You're looking at the flight of Thrall's Horde in Kalimdor and then its rise through Rexxar's intervention, the Legion invasion with Archimonde, the Scourging of Lordaeron and the fall of Silvermoon from both sides of Arthas' rise and fall, Illidan's attempts to steal the eye of Sargeras could probably be cut, but Kael and the Blood Elves need to happen, and only after all of that happens can you reasonably see Arthas reach the Frozen Throne.

There is one huge hiccup that I'm sure Blizzard are well aware of by this point, namely that chances are nothing from the scourging of Lordaeron will be able to be shown in China due to their censorship laws. An awful lot will need to change thematically and visually due to the way China regulates the appearance of corpses in film.

Oh, and Warcraft II also has an expansion pack. The Alliance decides to go through to the Outlands and royally fuck up the Horde's buttholes, with Falstad Wildhammer, Aleria Windrunner, Khadgar, you get the idea. The expansion is why Honour Hold is there in Hellfire Peninsular, along with the Wildhammer Dwarves in Shadowmoon and the High Elves in the forest. It's a damn good game.

... That... that was completely wrong. None of those things happen in Warcraft II. Stormwind is besieged in Warcraft I, Thrall first appears in Warcraft III, and Orgrimmar isn't even founded until the expansion pack of Warcraft III.

Dude, you are seriously lax on your RTS knowledge. I'd suggest at least downloading WCIII from the Blizzard store. It's cheap as balls now compared to how much fun you can have with it.

Warcraft II depicts the second besiegement of Azeroth by the Horde. Abandoned by the Legion the Orcs charge head-first up the continent to try and screw over the humans in the north, they ally themselves with the forest trolls, Zul'jin starts getting aggressive on the Elves, and then the Horde loses in pretty much every conceivable way because Gul'dan is a piece of shit.

as i said, not played the game and have not played WC3 in over 10 years. and i still think the siege of stormwind will happen in the next movie, since its a big event and its a way to inrtuduce arthas to the story since varian escapes to lordearon and meets arthas there
