well as you might imagine, science is not a particularly rich field and you can't expect to be rollin down the street in gold-plated ferraris and livin in mansions

but you can see for yourself if you just google chemist annual pay or something like that......now granted there are big differences that the 'statistics' don't show; but it would appear that on average a typical PhD chemist can earn ~$100,000 a year, while a PhD in chemical engineering can get closer to ~$180,000, if I remember correctly

------more to the point, I care about competition. because I don't like having to jump through some other dipshits hoops and definitions of brilliance just to get a job; instead I chose to do something that nobody else wants to do. and that's just as good

The Infinite Jukebox is the closest thing to what you're describing that I can think of. It doesn't work off of youtube, but the music library you can choose from should have whatever it is you're looking for. Hope this helps.

Not sure if you're asking about how to use it or how it decides when to skip around, so I'll just answer both to the best of my knowledge.

It's really simple and the library is rather large, at least from the numerous songs I've searched for. Just choose the song, the Jukebox will pick out the parts where it may or may not skip to, and then it will play infinitely.

As for how it works as far as randomizing your song. The circle that it shows you with the multiple bars and various linking lines to other bars inside the circle represent the beats of the song you've chosen. Each bar is a beat with the very top of the bar being the beginning of the song. Some, or many, of the beats have lines inside the circle linking them to another beat on the circle. Infinite Jukebox uses a program called Echonest that analyses the musical properties of the song that's being played and beats that contain similar properties such as tempo, volume, key signature, etc, will be linked together. As the song plays, if the song reaches a bar that is linked to another bar due to the similarity, there is a chance that the song will then jump to that next bar, randomizing the music for you.

I realized while I was typing that the Infinite Jukebox does not play in the background and only plays on Chrome and Safari. Here is the FAQ, hopefully it will answer your question if I was unable to.

Ahh thank you so much, I was listening to it and wondering how the fuck it worked :L

Didn't help that I was high, but still.

I hear you. Kinda hard to get much of anything done when you're high. Well, if you're too high, anyways. Thoughts just don't quite connect.
