Yes, while they are actors, they're still people, and people are either stupid or smart.

And on the whole "link to autism" thing, I've heard about scientists on youtube who have evidence that it does indeed cause diseases. I never saw these videos, so I dunno. I personally don't know where I stand on the whole subject, as it is good because nobody really has smallpox or polio these days. But at the Same time I don't really see the point of injecting myself with the vaccine on the off chance I'll get the flu.

Mr Jim Carey probably is one of the guys who are against it. He's not hurting anyone, just voicing his opinion. Agree to disagree I guess. Penn and Teller on Vaccinations

If my players come up with something hilarious/awesome/clever, I will often just say that it happens, or pretend to make them roll (but not actually care about what they rolled unless they totally fuck up).

Ultimately, almost all tabletop RPGs are meant to simulate an actual narrative, and sometimes narratives do crazy things like a character getting really mad at some jerk and knocking his ass out in one punch, even though the jerk might be a pretty damn good fighter in his own right.

If you run your game more like an episode of Kevin Sorbo's Hercules than an episode of Mythbusters, you're probably doing it right. At least, that's my approach.

So what? He's still a good actor and funny guy. Admire his work, not his opinions that aren't hurting anybody. If he was a die hard Nazi or something, I would understand.

I appreciate that he's good, I very much enjoyed Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Though is it not somewhat hypocritical to watch, and thus bring fame, to someone who holds the exact opposite opinion to you on something as large as the Autism/Vaccine topic? Though saying that, I am sure there are many actors I view who probably have differing opinions to me on similar topics, so perhaps it is unjustified to support one and not the other.

I do agree with you, I can't expect an actor to basically have all of my beliefs and values and then reconsider them when they do not, but I just can't understand how anyone could believe the link between autism and vaccinations...

Sometimes, as a DM, you need to just let your players do things. Really, anything that could happen in a TV show or movie about people who don't take themselves too seriously should be able to happen in the average D&D game. Imagine this chick walking closer as she hmmms and then how suddenly she grabs the guy if it were a live-action or animated thing, and you have your answer.

They'd still have to do a Strength check as opposed to anything else though, right? Never DMed, but I assume they'd at least get a +2 to the check...
