My biggest pet peeve is when the servers i work at a family owned medium sized restaurant, so no bussers just randomly throw dishes in the pit while i'm running plates and shit to the kitchen, i can come back after even just a minute and it looks like a bomb went off... seriously, like plates stack well on like plates.... sorry for the rant

If I even think about walking out of the dishroom for five seconds when the bakery or kitchen start to close, I get a pile of cookware that doesn't go away. The dishroom has to be spotless before either part of the restaurant closes, or I get to stay until midnight. -_-

One of my managers was real cool about it and let me go and said "Let the people in the morning worry about it." But my other managers made me wash them and clean the sink again.

Fuck man... Good thing you don't do that anymore. I would fucking lose my mind in that kind of environment. The owner just wanted the workers gone when it was closing time, so dishes left over were acceptable, but not recommended.

I'm not going to lie, the worst part about closing was cleaning the sink. It would usually take me about 20-30 minutes to clean all 4 of the sinks. Not to mention the buss boy would sometimes come back with a load of dishes that I had to wash after I cleaned the sink. As for the confetti, I tried my best to get all of it but I usually ended up trying to shove it all down the sink. It wasn't pretty.

Shit man. Well you just made my job seem a whole lot easier. I just have one sink to worry about and dishes don't even go in it. It is a really shallow one there just to drain the water from the pressure wash hose I got. Dishes go into a separate bin filled with water that only needs a quick spray at the end of the night.

But I know that "I just cleaned and they brought me more shit" feel. Always fucking happens, and most of the time when it does, I have the dishwasher turned off.

I wash dishes at a chicken place, so I feel ya son. I was grossed out the first couple of days, but now it's no problem to stick my hands in and wash dishes or drain the sink

I got used to it pretty fast. I used to work at Chuck E Cheese. I would see nothing but pizza, salads, wings, and confetti in the sink.

Damn son. I can only imagine the horrors of working at a place like that. I just work at a medium sized restaurant and the dishes I am given are scraped off before they are given to me to wash on slower days. Still, how do you even deal with confetti? I have a hard enough time with napkins.
