Then I have no fucking clue what's causing the performance drop, sorry.
You could try the usual troubleshooting methods, driver updates, system reboot etc. or wait for advice from the other members.

Thanks for trying to help, but honestly, I'm not too bothered by it. I like the smoothness of my regular monitor when it comes to playing games, and performance issues kind of mean jack when I just use the TV to browse the internet.

In the exact same conditions you have 60fps on your monitor and 30 on the TV ?

Your TV might simply be capped to 30Hz. A good confirmation of that is if the 30fps you're getting are perfectly stable.

Yep. My regular monitor can have about 80, even, playing the exact same game.

I've played WiiU games on this TV, and those run at 60fps just fine. I'll check out the settings to see if I can change this.

rzkruspe and kober, I really appreciate this. I have an old PC, I think the CPU and motherboard fried/broke because I was an idiot and I left it on all day, my mum said whilst I was at school it started making a really loud noise, I can't describe it but I'm pretty sure she made it out to sound like an overheated PC, so I assume the fan, mother board and cpu are fried. The power unit still works because I can turn it on and off fine, but it does not boot up, fan does not work. So I don't know if the harddrive is fucked or not. Question is do I use the remaining parts, can I use the other pieces like the ram I have, Im not sure what else is on there but I'll take pics.

User avatar
#45517 - kober (01/18/2016) [-]
As somebody who never turns off their computer (outside of restarts, power outages, upgrades, and moving) and haven't since I first built my computer in 2007, leaving it on all day should not cause problems.
Re-using the parts depends on how old it is. If it's still using DDR2, for example, I wouldn't bother.
User avatar
#45481 - rzkruspe (01/18/2016) [-]
Yeah post pics you dirty, you
But, if the PC is an old one like you said, I'd say do not re-use the parts, except maybe for the RAM and any part that would cost a ton.

Basically what we need here are the specs and the condition of the parts.
