If you're counting shit like what Illinois has (where it's only okay if it's some dumb shit in a small portion only in certain approved culinary classes because go fuck yourself) then there's 45. If not then there's few to none

I'm in New York and we absolutely cannot drink until 21. Also:

"In response to the National Minimum Drinking Age Act in 1984, which reduced by up to 10% the federal highway funding of any state which did not have a minimum purchasing age of 21, the New York Legislature raised the drinking age from 19 to 21, effective December 1, 1985."

But you're wrong...
In the state of New York, you can drink under 21 on the following conditions:

* on private non alcohol-selling premises, with parental consent
* for educational purposes
* when reporting medical need due to underage drinking for another minor

Article 5 § 65-c

Listen, you don't have to like the way policing is done. I'm a cop and I don't like some of the things we do; I recognize that there are problems in our society and with policing in general. And there's definitely nothing wrong with wanting improvement in a system as important as policing. But, if you're going to get upset, point out problems and demand change, at least have the decency to be educated and informed about the actual problems. Putting your money where your mouth is and working to fix those problems is a lot more productive that just bitching on an obscure corner of the internet.

Thanks for the support, brother!

We hate bad cops probably more than the public. The thing is that the majority of the time when a cop does something really bad, it's not because they were actually a bad cop. Cops are human and they fuck up, occasionally. That doesn't excuse it, but it puts the "bad cop epidemic" in perspective. Doctors kill way, way more people every year--despite there being roughly the same number of them as there are cops-- but people don't complain about corrupt, murderous doctors. Funny how that works.

I'll definitely watch my back, and the backs of the guys next to me, especially with what's going on out there. Take care of yourself, buddy.

when doctors kill patients, they actually face consequences
not paid suspension

Except that they don't. Doctors kill at least 210,000 people per year, though the actual number is probably closer to 400,000. There are about 800,000 doctors in the US, so on the low end, that means that one in four doctors kills a patient by mistake every year. If even half of these doctors "faced consequences," we would quickly find ourselves out of doctors. (killed by doctors: journals.lww.com/journalpatientsafety/Fulltext/2013/09000/A_New,_Evidence_based_Estimate_of_Patient_Harms.2.aspx ; physician job stats: www.bls.gov/ooh/healthcare/physicians-and-surgeons.htm ). On the other hand, there are roughly 900,000 police officers in the US and about 1,000 incidents of police killing people-- justified or otherwise-- per year. That means that 0.1% of police officers kill somebody per year. Compare these numbers then try to tell me it's an "epidemic."

Regarding cops, numerous cops have been fired for mistakes and plenty of them have been charged or convicted. Many have been fired even when an investigation determines they actually didn't do anything wrong. Frequently, these stories do not make the national news. If you're interested in checking on that, just Google "police officer arrested" or "police officer fired" and read the results. Officers are placed on administrative leave-- not suspension-- after a shooting because their department shouldn't be putting somebody to work immediately after such a traumatic event and because time is needed to investigate the incident and see if there is cause for disciplinary action and/or criminal prosecution.
