I'm not from the UK, but it seems the situation is pretty much the same everywhere. The EU is basically meant to help the economies of its' members. If you're a member, it's much easier to travel to other member countries and to trade with them, easier for investors to come in and so on. However, in order to get those benefits, you have to fulfill a long list of bullshit requirements that cost a fortune to fulfill, pay a membership fee and the EU has the right to mess with your economy both directly and indirectly. For example, I'm bulgarian, we have one dingy little nuclear power plant in the whole country, but it's still enough to export power - something not many other countries do. This gives us a degree of economic independence. So, the EU shut down half the reactors with some bullshit excuse, making us more dependent on other members of the EU. Same with agriculture, lots of grain and vegetables, all getting exported and the EU goes "Yeah, that's great and all, but we're gonna give you a bunch of subsidies if you only grow lilac and a bunch of non-edible industrial plants, which you can't process yourself, because we shut down all your factories for not meeting EU standards, so you have to sell them dirt-cheap to EU countries instead.

The EU meddles in the affairs of countries way too fucking much, because it's idea of "cooperation" is "everyone being dependent on everyone else". Which, in the long term, is bad for everyone. Also, it's fucking useless when it comes to actually solving problems, like the Crimea thing. It's too slow and full of bureaucracy.

Basically imagine the United States, but instead of the states getting to elect their own congressmen and senators, the federal government elects their own people by themselves and let the states elect people who have no legislative powers at all, and the states have to pay a huge-ass membership fee while also those who have decent economies have to foot the bill for members who have fuck-all.

England not the entire UK or even the whole of Britain because Ireland and Scotland mostly voted to stay, so they might split off from England and stay in the EU. said "fuck that" and voted to leave so they won't have to deal with all of the EU's shit restrictions and regulations.

good day for representative government and good day for England

Eu is like america but states have way more rights
Except they cant vote for their president, meaning a lot of policy is decided undemocratically. Its also socialist, so the uk, which is doing well, has to pay billions of dollars to failing eu countries.
Brexit people wanted to leave and be sovereign again. Bremain wanted to stay and their only reason was that taxes would increase on imported goods. Also the media pushed the story that people who wanted to leave the eu only wanted so because thwy didnt like muslims and didnt want to accept refugees. Turns out calling one side rascist doesnt guarantee a victory, because leave won 52% to 48% in the biggest voter turnout since churchill

It'd be like Texas leaving the Union.

#48 - lyiat (06/25/2016) [-]
It's really not at all like Texas leaving the US. Texas is a small state that's part of a large nation. It isn't self sufficient, and heavily relies on the rest of the US to survive (as do most states). The UK is a sovereign nation leaving an alliance of other nations. This is more like the US leaving the UN.
#52 - skebaba (06/25/2016) [-]
Texas is a big earner for US, unlike freeloaders like Alabama etc. This is the reason Texas might want to call it quits.

The whole thing is complicate, but you can boil it down to a few things.
The first one is more of a European one tho.
European media is state funded. Considering Europe is very liberal, the governments puch diversity quota's and shill left winged propaganda.
In essence, all sectors of society that depend on governement funding, including art, welfare leeches and certain enviormental groups, vote liberal.
Groups like law enforcement being the exception considering they have to deal with all of that shit.

Survey's have shown that journalists almost exclusively vote liberal, this can be seen all over the west.

Pic related is a quote from a journalist after Nixon won the election. She chould not believe it, because her entire enviorment voted for the other guy.
Nixon won 49 states that year

And i remember when Pim Fortuyn an anti-immigration politician in the Netherlands that was later gunned down won the city council elections in Rotterdam (he won 17 out of 45 seats, the runner up got 11).
Some journalist that dit TV coverage started the bit by saying
With great sorrow i have to inform you that Pim Fortuyn won the election

But dont take my word for it. See how mild the media is on Hillary, look how soft the questions are at the Dem debate.

Obama has mentioned the gender wage gap several times, the media just goes with it, they dont debunk it.

But many mainstream media are liberal biased.

Every time laDarius shaBoontay gets shot by a cop, they dont show the current pic of him with a gun and a kill whitey cap. They show a pic of him 5 years ago, with a good looking shirt or something like that.

Why did the German media try to hide the organisted gang rapes in Cologne?
