You've got to be on crack comparing a humvee or a tank to an f-16.

First of all as previously stated, the B-52 isn't in danger with a single engine being out.

Second you seem to be forgetting that when you're talking about an F-16, there's a pilot's life on the line. From my time in the USAF, I've noticed that pilots will push as far as they can, sometimes even to their death, to try to bring the jet back in one piece. They know that if they crash a single jet, even if it's not directly their fault, they will likely lose their wings, and to a lot of them that matters more than life. And then even if the pilot does eject, it's still not exactly a safe procedure.

If you seriously believe that the US military will allow an F-16 to crash in order to allow a B-52 that isn't in any serious danger to land first, you are completely clueless.
