Your argument is good though. It basically says "Your wife should have been raped and murdered, rather than have a gun and use it in a safe and responsible manner." Whats next? Gonna tell us how all gays are going to hell, and vaccinations cause Autism?

Twice, my wife, alone at home, used her gun to scare 2 men off who were messing with the back door. Second time we were not home, and only a few electronics were taken. I have also just recently had to flash my gun on my hip to stave off a would be mugger and his buddy with a knife.

User avatar #133 - ratytang (03/06/2015) [-]
why did Australia change then?
User avatar #140 - sweetkixx (03/06/2015) [-]
Because Australia is different. I'm not Australian by any means. Born and raised USA. First off, not every American would give up their gun willingly. I personally have a gun that is not registered to my name therefor the government technically doesn't know I have it. Second, it is much more difficult for our government to enact a "gun ban". Since the second amendment to the Constitution states that law abiding citizens can legally own guns, it's a bit more tricky to just say "oops! We lied! Give it all back!" Plus! This amendment was put into place to protect citizens from tyranny. Basically for the people to protect themselves from the government. Looking at it that way, if the US gov were to enact a gun ban, how would you feel as a citizen? One step closer to communism.
#135 - solomonkane (03/06/2015) [-]
You have a small enough population to make it easier to control and there are no other countries like Mexico who traffic drugs and weapons through your borders cause hell.. Your fuckin' border is an ocean. You guys are on a big rock, isolated from the rest of the world. Unless the great whites are running organized crime, Why not get rid of your guns? There are no other countries around you that are gonna bring some new ones in illegally.

It's a DIFFERENT CULTURE. do you not understand what cultures are? if Austrailia changed then thats fine and dandy but Austrailia is not America. You do not hold the same Ethics we do. Your laws have always been stricter than ours. Your people are used to strict laws and you accept them. Americans are not, if americans get restricitons placed on us that make us uncomfortable we fucking lose it.

Admittedly, the last time strict laws were put into place in America, we caused a revolution and kicked the British out for taxing us on tea. Most of the British Empire had these taxes, but we didn't. Then they tried to enact them, and the colonies in the US had a fit.

The point wasn't that they weren't Australians, its that you were bringing it up like Australia was some untouchable land for guns.
Lol and calm down with all the rest of your post, Jesus Christ. You guys have had bombings and shootings as well. This is a terrible comparison regardless because you barely even have 1/10 of our population. Get 300 million more citizens and then maybe you'll have a few mental cases as well which is what all of those bombers and shooters are anyways, its not because "Lel YOU HAVE GUNZZZZ" .

Admittedly, the last time strict laws were put into place in America, we caused a revolution and kicked the British out for taxing us on tea. Most of the British Empire had these taxes, but we didn't. Then they tried to enact them, and the colonies in the US had a fit.
#139 - janosaudron (03/06/2015) [-]

Its not to protect him for one crazy person with a gun, but a trained assassin. Kennedy wouldn't have died if he'd ridden with the bubble up.

You are class one retard to think that all that is needed to stop a hunting rifle or hand grenade. That car can take a direct hit from an M1. Its to protect him from hired killers who have access to nearly any weapon they want. Less than inch thick glass can stop a .44 magnum. 4inch thick will stop an RPG or anti-material rifle. Things that American citizens cant own.

You fucking retard. Fucking shove your nutsack into a blender. You are a dirty fucking lesbian. If you ever show up to my house i'm going to blow your fucking cock off and shove it up your ass. Why dont you come over here so I can skin you alive with a butter knife, why dont we ban those too, I can kill your pussy ass with it.

McFucking kill yourself you worthless piece of autistic shit.
User avatar #261 - nanako (03/06/2015) [-]
i did some checking because i wanted one once, apparently an anti materiel rifle is totally legal to own in texas.

costs about $11,000
User avatar #316 - dudeyouisnasty (03/06/2015) [-]
Yes, but for rifles above 1/2" bore you need a Title 7 or Title 10 Federal Firearms License as well as a Class III Special Occupation Tax. Most civilians cant meet those requirements. The anti-material rifles i'm talking about are military special, not the civilian variants.
#107 - solomonkane (03/06/2015) [-]
You cannot keep people from having guns dude. Even if guns were outlawed, people would still own them.

and an Atack on a politition is often agains the position not the person.

those assholes wern't fucking Australians they got the guns else where and what happened to them gun owners, they are now dead because they used a fucking gun, GG citizens don't have guns here, but police do, and that's how it should be, you can't be afraid of breaking the law if you are more powerful then it. also on that doesn't america have bombings, bombings and school shoot outs ect, nothing explodes here, we can have a safe marathon.
User avatar #163 - averagewhitekid (03/06/2015) [-]
The point wasn't that they weren't Australians, its that you were bringing it up like Australia was some untouchable land for guns.
Lol and calm down with all the rest of your post, Jesus Christ. You guys have had bombings and shootings as well. This is a terrible comparison regardless because you barely even have 1/10 of our population. Get 300 million more citizens and then maybe you'll have a few mental cases as well which is what all of those bombers and shooters are anyways, its not because "Lel YOU HAVE GUNZZZZ" .

and Australia didnt at the time? we still have the record for the biggest massacre in the world, they banned guns and because we are not dickheads and learned that bullshit like that can happen we gave our guns up
#113 - solomonkane (03/06/2015) [-]
I dont think you fully understand what is going on. Criminals aren't going to hand their guns over. Getting rid of guns will not solve the problem. You'll just be disarming the people who want to defend themselves. Not the criminals.

Criminals do not care what is legal or not.

Also, it doesn't matter where you're from. In my experience, There are legions of dickheads in every country.
User avatar #117 - ninjaroo (03/06/2015) [-]

User avatar #119 - ratytang (03/06/2015) [-]
so what you are telling me is that if someone breaks into your home you are going to beable to get to your gun safe in time, unlock it and shoot them b4 they shoot you? or are you a dumb ass who leaves his gun where someone could get it and shoot them selfve or even shoot you?
