Good lord. This sounds like the same kind of bull shit we were dealing with in the US when people were talking about Net Neutrality. Just another example of mega corporations trying to infect our politicians and fuck over the smaller guys.

I live in Oklahoma, U.S., and I get my service from a privately owned as in not owned by comcast, telacom, or any of the other mega corporations provider called COX. I pay $50 / month for what is supposed to be 50 Mb / sec. with no usage limit, but for some reason I'm actually getting close to 60 Mb/s. One month my roommates and I chewed through over 200 GB of data and we weren't charged anything extra. Maybe I'm just lucky that I live in an area with better options.

Canada has the worst internet in the world: lmgtfy.com/?q=canada+worst+internet+in+the+world

Would not recommend moving here unless absolutely necessary.

When you say unlimited bandwidth, do you mean total data usage?
#98 - rainyeyes (9 hours ago) [-]
Yes. Some packages limit you to say 300GB to 600GB for example. My package gives unlimited but at such low speeds, I'd still prefer low speed at an unlimited bandwidth cap. All companies charge a fee for going over your cap which is complete bullshit because they should just shut off your internet until the next billing cycle since you literally paid for only 600 GB. If you go over you're technically stealing so they shouldn't even charge you a fee for an extra 1 GB. Consider this: $5/1GB over your bandwidth to a maximum of $25. If i'm paying $45 a month, I am literally being robbed blind 25/45 of my next billing cycle's worth.

There's this company called Rogers (we call it Robbers) that does this in Toronto. Do not come to Canada. We're still waiting for our Lord and Savior Google to rescue us from this eternal hell.

MSE is really slow to scan and figure out. Likelihood is it will work, but poorly
#128 - verycoolcat (11 hours ago) [-]
Fact is, most antiviruses won't let viruses through, its all the other shit they do that makes them popular/unpopular.

I.e. symantec/norton are resource hogs.

OP wasn't the first one to suggest using MSE for some reason, which is why I asked. I've known other people who recommended Windows Defender over AVG or other internet security.
