I think female officers in Japan are forced to practice some Aikido, so they can deal with people a lot bigger than themselves. I also saw a science measuring force used by a guy not using an Aikido technique (or any technique) trying to fight a grip, vs one who did use Aikido. You only registered force used for a split second for the Aikido dude, and a shit ton for the other guy. The other guy also failed.

Long and boring story, maybe, but it proves a good point.

I attended a seminar or something like that, where we practiced something quite unique. One master dropped me to the ground by laying his hand on my shoulder. He did not push or anything, it was quite something. This only works on relaxed people, though, and is not a defensive technique in any way. It is more of a learning tool, about energy and whatnot.

Devin Townsend - Casualties of Cool (Full Album) *HQ* ft. Ché Aimee I highly recommend you Casualties of Cool then. It's the best album of 2014 if you ask me, and on a real personal opinion it's a musical experience like how Dark Side of the Moon was back in those years only that is not that well known.

It's a progressive country album, a sound like no other.

#93 - rainbowrush (02/17/2015) [-]
Though Sauna's are usually under 80, it's not hard to find saunas over 90. There have been instances of people being in over 100 degrees for relatively short periods of time.

My point is not how common it is, or even if it's possible for you to attend these saunas. My point was that people have survived over 100 degrees Celsius, unlike what a lot of you are stating.

Me and some friends did that some years back and was tons of fun. It also helps your discipline and other benefits. to be honest, though, the most fun was to throw my friends around, down hills, small cliffs, or simply fuck around.

Manipulation of force might be a more understandable way of describing the basis of our techniques.

I've never been in a fight where anyone got hurt more than their pride, and that's thanks to just a short time training that kind of stuff. You should look into Aikido. I've been in 2 confrontation, but also taken on an army of little people. Both went really well, though I was a bit nervous in one of them.

Aikido is a martial art built around not fighting, so you know it's the opposite of competitive.

I have like 45 gigs of music in my computer and it's growing and looking more beautiful than ever.

I should get more Rush, they're good.
About Fink Ployd, I can't like em that much but I do like a few albums. Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You We're Here, Meddle, Some of The Wall, and I should check Animals.

These are my most updated ranks, anything you dig?
User avatar #352871 - rainbowrush (02/17/2015) [-]
I could listen to all of that, though there's one or two bands there I do not know. Thanks for the list, I'll acquire some of it, though I might hunt out specific songs in stead of entire albums in some cases. I'm extremely strange, as I can listen to anything and not take notice of it, while working, but I can still get bored by it. Usually stuff that's pretty repetitive, like a lot of Slipknot, or just stuff that's plain boring.

I do understand people not listening to Pink Floyd. It is a bit different from everything else. I really love progressive music, though there's very little of it at higher quality, and is why I like Rush and Pink Floyd so much. I listen to more Floyd than Rush, actually. Which is weird when you take in consideration that Rush inspired my name.

I don't like talking about it too much, but it's not the first time I've dealt with a death close to me. I lost my best friend when I was 20, as well as my grandmother. I also lost my grandfather (who practically raised me until I was six) when I was 18. I was the one who found her on the morning she passed. I dealt with it a lot more calmly than most people would have, which surprised the EMTs. My dad just plain scared them with how calm he was at first when he came home from work.

So is it a thing to hate on Nu?
User avatar #160 to #159 - rainbowrush ONLINE (08/01/2013) [-]
Pretty much yeah. I don't listen to much Nu, but I have some on my phone and there are a lot of great Nu songs. The problem is that there's not a lot to many of the songs. If you listen to for example Slipknot, you might get bored half way through a song. There's also a lot of hate towards bands like Linkin Park and Avenged Sevenfold for a coupe of reasons.

Nu is a pretty boring part of metal, but some a7x every now and again is always nice.
User avatar #161 to #160 - anonymousbrony (08/01/2013) [-]
I listened to older Linkin Park, like their album Minutes to Midnight but I always thought they were alternative. Same for A7X, although it's been awhile.

I would never consider them metal.
User avatar #162 to #161 - rainbowrush ONLINE (08/01/2013) [-]
Metal is usually defined by rhythms and the instruments. Some bands just scream to show that they can scream, don't even try to make it sound good. This is not metal. "Real metal" is quite similar to classical (with the exception of Heavy Metal) .

Let's go with a quite clear example as to how and why metal is divided:

If my memory serves correct, Nu metal is driven by heavy guitar rhythms and riffs. Just like this song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=94bGzWyHbu0
