It kinda looked like the girl drawing herself on the left was going to attack other (pretty, popular) girls out of envy by claiming that she's better than them (smarter, more sensitive, better taste, etc.). But then she showed her maturity by not pretending to be a special snowflake and not hating on other girls. I expected sour grapes, and instead found it heartwarming.

No, we're rewarding her for acknowledging that she is a normal human being.

I dunno, isn't it equally pretentious to draw how "mature" you are, unprompted
#81 - anonymous (11/25/2014) [-]
Showing one's maturity was an effect of the piece, not the main motivation. I find it hard to believe someone can look at the content and immediately find it ostentatious.

I really doubt it. Any time a piece is artist centric like this, it's pretentious.

Typically, not always. And this piece is obviously not such a case.

That's my point. That's the irony of it. Actual equality would suck for women. They already have equal rights in the modern world. There are so many ideological fallacies and gender bias in modern feminism it kills me. The OP of the original post had that much right at least, it should be about "true" equality, lesser known as egalitarianism. At the end of the day that's what I believe in. True equality for all, and let differences in treatment be left to what science says about gender.

Egalitarianism isn't perfect, but it is a far, FAR better social position than our current social gender positioning.
As knowledge of how we interact as community/species improves, certain portions of certain stereotypes will be re-threaded into our social structure, but the best way to do that correctly is to first level the field and wipe the gender slate with Egalitarianism.

Men's bodies are also generally stronger anyway so making the moves to improve is considerably easier. Generally women do seem to put more effort into convincing themselves that there aren't any problems. I'd like to know whether that's mainly evolutionary or mainly cultural.
