Are you the same guy that says Mew is under the truck?

But he's correct.

All of them from at least gen 3 out.

Because after testing just now in Ruby it was the same with or without, and in pearl I got the same result. So I call bull. And even in the game guide I have pulled up it says that is not fact.

According to Bulbapedia (see comment below us) a pokemon gains 1.5 times the experience if they also join the battle than if they only hold the Exp. Share.

You see that is the issue. I go to that site and all they have is a picture of the item, and no info besides shares EXP. post a link to the page where it has text on the item.

Dude, he's right. It would get 1.5x if it participates in the battle with one other pokemon.
There's no way he's wrong, sorry.

Have tested it 10 times, still no boost.

Next to the "Cannot be bought" you'll see it says "hide". It says "Open" otherwise. They're not easy to see, it's easy to miss it.

Sorry to burst your bubble but after now testing again on another 2 games (black 1 and White 2) I have yet to see any boost. Seems like your little site got shit wrong.

"Little site"

Suit yourself bro, I'd follow bulbapedia before I followed the pokemon.com. But whatever.

I am following the actual game play. Holding the game in my hand and doing one trainer battle with the EXP share, shutting off the system, and doing the same battle without, and the EXP is the same. Follow your site, but the info is BS

Bulbapedia is one of the most comprehensive sites to exist you twat
I know its hard to admit when you're wrong, but as someone who's played it for around 10 years, i know what im talking about
Heres a video on youtube that proves it

Sorry, but that is teh switch method. What that is is when you switch from the pokemon without the share to the one with and the one with the share gets more. But what I am talking about is just holding the share and going into battle (without switching between them) You will see no EXP change. You are not getting more EXP from the battle like is insisted, but instead more of the shared is going to the EXP share holder.

In summary, saying you get 1.5x more EXP is a little misleading and should instead say, "If switched to the EXP share holder to finish the fight, the shared experience would be uneven and the holder would get a larger amount." The way it was phrased before would be saying that more EXP was given in total

Go back and read comment #64 again
He is clearly saying that the pokemon holding it would get 75% of the total exp
while I, Gairachu, and the site, am saying you would get 1.5x what you wouldve gotten if the pokemon didnt participate.

75% of the total and 1.5x the original amount gained (half of the total) are the same thing. Basic math.

You see that is where not using proper wording and not explaining what is meant WAAAAY down the line makes shit stupid. Now that it was worded correctly I see what you say and back down. But for fucks sake, wouldn't it have been nice to have the person word it correctly the first time?
#93 - KungFuZerO (06/06/2013) [-]
You either read it wrong or youre lying to cover yourself

bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Experience-affecting_item "From Generation II onwards, it shares experience gained from battle between Pokémon that participate in battle and the holder. If the holder also takes part in the battle it will receive 1.5 times more experience, while the rest will receive only half."
