thats not a thing people can do on their own.
you can buy fairtrade products to fight poverty for example but thats about it.
just buying the right meat tho is kinda easy.

it's easy for an individual, however it doesnt have much effect unless EVERYONE does it, which is my point. I try to do my best not to make the world any crappier than it already is; I buy free-range meat and fair-trade goods and recycle, so I can at least be confident I'm not contributing to the crap, but unless everyone does it these things wont have much effect at all.

"but the vast majority of people dont, which is why battery farms are so common."

exactly. people have those kinda options. and its not even about money.
people waste extreme amounts of money in kfcs/mcdonalds/whatever for some kinda shitty meat there but still buy the cheapest shit they get in stores.

Democracy. Even if we don't like what they do we put up with it because everyone has the right to live as they choose, the majority rules. Can try to convince people to change their minds, but some valid reasoning would help instead of bs like what's in the content.

You've made one argument, that breeding livings things is cruel - a subject that is completely up to debate. Solid reasoning mate, you've done a great job.

its not about killing them though, most animals live in pain because people refuse to choose their meat a bit more carefully

breeding living beings to murder them...its cruel no matter what you say. we have the option to buy "better" meat with better living circumstances. ofc it would cost slightly more, but if people can waste their money on expensive fast food they can also buy slightly more expensive meat.

Really? 3 o'clock in the morning again? Aye. Well, I was just in England this past week. Could've told me you were in England, haha.
#51 to #50 - rabidaardvark (01/04/2014) [-]
well, its more like half three. whereabouts in England were you?
#52 to #51 - lovecranes (01/04/2014) [-]
Well, I'll give you that. I was in Covent Garden. Near all the big theaters and musicals. I was pretty close to Bromley and Victoria platform. Not sure if that if specific enough. Where are you?
#53 to #52 - rabidaardvark (01/04/2014) [-]
I'm in Essex, which is about an hour from London
#54 to #53 - lovecranes (01/05/2014) [-]
Oh wow. Pretty close. Is it an hour by tube or car?
#55 to #54 - rabidaardvark (01/05/2014) [-]
the tube doesnt go out of London. have to get a proper train.
#56 to #55 - lovecranes (01/05/2014) [-]
I meant, how long would it be with a fast way transportation?
#57 to #56 - rabidaardvark (01/05/2014) [-]
oh, i ment about an hour by train, since i never drive in.
#58 to #57 - lovecranes (01/05/2014) [-]
Oh okay. Just got confused there.

Oops.

Bored? It happens.
#6 to #5 - rabidaardvark (09/22/2013) [-]
yeah particularly at 3am when youve got nothing to do
#7 to #6 - lovecranes (09/22/2013) [-]
Dang. 3 in the morning? Holy moly. Why aren't you sleeping?
#8 to #7 - rabidaardvark (09/22/2013) [-]
im pretty nocturnal. u stay up late a few nights in a row watching a whole series or 2 and suddenly u cant sleep until ridiculous o'clock and dont wake up till stupid in the afternoon.
#9 to #8 - lovecranes (09/22/2013) [-]
Yeah, I know that feeling. I've done it myself. What series were you watching?
#10 to #9 - rabidaardvark (09/22/2013) [-]
Well, first it was attack on titan, then elfen lied, then gj-bu and now im on kore wa zombie desu ka. Anime basically.
#11 to #10 - lovecranes (09/22/2013) [-]
Wow. You've got a whole string of things. Are they any good? I assume you like Anime?
#12 to #11 - rabidaardvark (09/22/2013) [-]
i like some anime, same as i like some shows. its less the format and more the content i like. and yes they're all good, but for different reasons. Elfen Lied is amazing but God is it depressing. AoT is epic and the others are funny.
#13 to #12 - lovecranes (09/22/2013) [-]
You've got quite a range there. For some reason, I really like depressing things (series, movies, books...)
#14 to #13 - rabidaardvark (09/22/2013) [-]
then give Elfen Lied a try. If you ca make it through the first 10 minute bloodbath and get to the character's backstories u may just drown in feels. alot of blood and nudity though, although the nudity isn't the usual overthetop anime nudity.
#15 to #14 - lovecranes (09/22/2013) [-]
Ah I see. I'll give it a try and see how it goes from there. Maybe I'll like it....Who knowsc
#16 to #15 - rabidaardvark (09/22/2013) [-]
well im the same with every anime i watch. some i like, some i dont. you dont know until you try it.
#17 to #16 - lovecranes (09/22/2013) [-]
True true. The last line of your message sounded like something I would say.
#18 to #17 - rabidaardvark (09/22/2013) [-]
Well its a good thing to say. unless im talking with a girl and suggest anal. then it all goes to **** .
#19 to #18 - lovecranes (09/22/2013) [-]
Well, I would hate to say this, but you are talking to a female. I honestly wouldn't mind if you said anal. I just would overlook that.
#43 to #19 - rabidaardvark (09/24/2013) [-]
well I would imagine people would freak out in a flood. and i know those things happened, i just dont know much about them.
#44 to #43 - lovecranes (09/24/2013) [-]
Floods are reasonable things to be concerned about, but my area doesn't get that many flash floods. In any case, you know some of the major highlights of your nation. That's adequate.
#41 to #19 - rabidaardvark (09/24/2013) [-]
actually my university opens on snow days anyway, so the snow just makes it harder to get there. and yeah i know our history's great, even though i dont really know it very well myself
#42 to #41 - lovecranes (09/24/2013) [-]
Seriously? People freak out here whenever it sleets or hails or floods. Do you like school? I bet you know some of your own country's history. For example, you know about the Black Plague or The Battle of Hastings...?
#38 to #19 - rabidaardvark (09/23/2013) [-]
we get fairly bad thundestorms sometimes, i really meant we dont get hurricanes or ice storms or things like that. Snows alright, i guess, though to be honest i find it more of a nuissance than anything, cause it stops all transport and generally messes the country up. Britain is completely incapable of dealing with snow, its ridiculous
#39 to #38 - lovecranes (09/24/2013) [-]
Oh well, you are still lucky in the case that you don't get wildfires, tornadoes, or any of the massive destructions like we do. I can see how snow is irritable, but hey, no school or work right? Although, I love school and learning. Britain doesn't really seem capable of such destructions, especially like the ones here. However, you should be glad that Britian has such an interesting background. Trust me, British history is much better than our history.
#36 to #19 - rabidaardvark (09/23/2013) [-]
We used to only get snow every other winter, though recently its been snowing alot each year. We also get hail and sleet, but fortunately the weather never gets worse than thunderstorms.
#37 to #36 - lovecranes (09/23/2013) [-]
Oh man you are lucky! Nothing worse than thuderstorms? Can we switch places? Haha. Do you like snow? I love snow.
#34 to #19 - rabidaardvark (09/23/2013) [-]
Its alright; it hardly ever gets too hot or cold here, its very average. Rains alot though. Like this summer after our week of sun we had so much rain it flooded. fortunately i was in florida at the time.
#35 to #34 - lovecranes (09/23/2013) [-]
Yeah, that is one thing nice about the British area. Not too cold or too hot. Do you get snow? Or just cold rain, hail, and such?
#32 to #19 - rabidaardvark (09/22/2013) [-]
well thats britain for you. im british btw
#33 to #32 - lovecranes (09/23/2013) [-]
True true. That is a very British weather. You are British? That's awesome! I love London! Half of my family live in London and in that area. Another thing, I'll be there for Christmas. I am going to Paris before London. I can hardly wait! Do you like the British area?
#30 to #19 - rabidaardvark (09/22/2013) [-]
overcast and grey, all the summer suns gone. at least I had a good weeks worth of it this year.
#31 to #30 - lovecranes (09/22/2013) [-]
Yikes. That weather does not sound pleasant. All dark and obscure. It gives a very mysterious effect.
#28 to #19 - rabidaardvark (09/22/2013) [-]
yeah i am
#29 to #28 - lovecranes (09/22/2013) [-]
Haha, that was an extremely hard guess. It's so beautiful here. Gorgeous fall day. What's the weather like at your area?

sorry cant reply to your other comments for some reason. tried IMing but doesnt seem to work. anyway yeah i did assume you were a guy. sorry.
#27 to #26 - lovecranes (09/22/2013) [-]
I think we reached the limit. That's okay though. I tried IM-ing you, but it wouldn't wok for some reason. I don't mind you thought I was a guy. The society of FJ is mainly male domiated. You rarely find female members here. I assume you are male?
#22 to #19 - rabidaardvark (09/22/2013) [-]
well I couldnt tell since all i had to go on was the name, since i cant view your profile
#23 to #22 - lovecranes (09/22/2013) [-]
Did you think I was male? Just curious....
#20 to #19 - rabidaardvark (09/22/2013) [-]
tbh i was just trying to be funny. clearly i did not succeed.

#21 to #20 - lovecranes (09/22/2013) [-]
