My problem is:
Sanders' plan is to tax the rich until he can pay for all the crazy shit he's promising, and they're the only people who can decide to just move to another country if things get too expensive here. He's going to chase away about 60% of the US taxes.

Clinton is constantly doing shady shit. She mishandled classified information, after she was told "Don't do that" she continued to do so. For a regular citizen that would carry a couple lifetimes in prison. And she seems to genuinely believe that her genitalia should make her qualified for the job.

Let's skip the rest of the republicans, because very few of them impress me in any way, and the ones that do impress me are not doing so in a positive way. Cruise is teatering on the edge I suppose, but the main topic is Trump so...

Trump knows exactly how to massage the media into doing exactly what he needs them to do. His views are extreme because he knows they'll get him votes. People who claim he's an idiot clearly don't see those facts.

Given the choice right this very minute on who I would vote for, I would vote for Trump and never look back. His presidency would inspire the same thing as Obama's presidency. A huge opposite party surge. Republicans showed up at the voting booths because they didn't like the president. Democrats will do the same thing.

I don't even live in the USA.
But I'd rather have an honest idiot in power than a smart liar.

Funnily enough, trump reminds me a lot of jimmie åkesson which is swedens trump since atleast 2010. I agree with mostly what åkesson says: make sweden great again but i really dont give two shits about trump and i dlightly dislike him becaus he says racist and outright dumb shit to gain voted from the lowest trash of society and he is a multimillionare and i dont think that is a qualification to become a president.

If i where american i'd probably vote for sanders because free college whic is great if you want to de-stupidize a nation where even the poorest ones can educate themselves and not end up dead on a meth overdoze in the trailer.

I think the majority of people really like trump. so far everything I see in favor of the democratic party gets downvoted to hell. Everyone tries to throw in their two cents. I wont vote for trump because I'd literally be shooting myself in the foot. I'm mexican but I'm still a U.S. citizen. Calling me an anchor baby and trying to overturn the 14th amendment to send me back to a country that isnt my home. I dont want that kind of leader in power, especially in these dangerous times. It's like he puts himself up on a pedestal.

I don't necessarily agree with everything he stands for, but I dislike everyone else a lot more.

Call me shortsighted, but his tweets alone are enough for me to dismiss him as somewhat incompetent for the role of President

To be fair it's incredibly difficult to weaponize his vagueness in 150 characters

I'd say it's a pretty major failure of the media that the only two candidates anyone here has heard of are Trump and Sanders and they really don't seem to understand either candidate.

Just watched the Democratic debate tonight, and all I got out of it was:
1. Hillary can attack and respond to any attack even if the timer runs out.
2. Bernie can speak his mind, but cannot respond to Clinton attacks. (see also: DNC breach)
3. O'malley can only speak for two minutes.
4. Hillary tried pandering to Star Wars fans by saying "May the Force Be With You" in her closing statement.

I wouldn't call a reference pandering necessarily. Obviously she's playing off hype but pandering is kind of a loaded word.
User avatar
#78 - theugandanhero (12/20/2015) [-]
Not really if you understand what she's trying to achieve especially when it's said in her closing statement.
Also don't forget that the director of the movie cut Hillary a check for her campaign some time ago.

I unironically support him because Bernie is a push button receive money machine, Clinton is a Psychopath, and Paul can't get a leg up for the life of him.
I /would/ be supporting Paul if Trump wasn't already absorbing the parts I like from Paul
#51 - anon (12/20/2015) [-]
Some likely, some likely not. So far I simply dislike him less than Bernie or Hillary, and he's got an insane level of anti-propaganda being pointed at him. Half the shit you see on the internet about him is basically manufactured think-tank shit to make him look like Hitler reborn.

It's starting to make him feel like an underdog to a lot of people, which is absolutely hilarious to me.

most likely it's all a result of the /pol/ propaganda we have.

Nobody would dare to bring up the other extreme as on e.g. tumblr. All we get is one point of view.

People like schnizzle would never admit that they limit their posts to what strengthens their ideology. And even if you show how he's wrong he'll ignore it and keep posting stuff of similar calibre.

That's why i'm pretty happy admin introduced the "content blocking" option. Neverending pots of deaf stubborn people is pretty exhausting.
User avatar

The /pol/ propaganda is what I expected and feared, because it felt like we crossed the threshold between irony and bandwagon a long while back, I just didn't want to ask because I expected backlash for it.

And that's pretty much exactly it, when anybody brings up any counterpoints, it gets stomped on because of the bandwagon. It's not even about right or wrong. It's just about "getting with the program," and if you're not with it, you're ostracized.

I didn't know that blocking content was possible. I am tempted to explore this possibility.

I also thank you for the honest and civilized response, I didn't expect to get one.
