Oh man. That's happened a lot. It's almost always a couple, a man and a woman. Looks like one, anyway. Not the same man and woman, any of the times I've seen them, but almost always a man and a woman. If you were to take a picture of them, they'd look like normal people; dressed normal, acting normal, normal, if a bit somber, expressions on their faces. But looking directly at them, their edges flicker. Sometimes they seem to take the same step twice. They don't like to talk, and ignore people around them. Dogs either growl or cower when they go past. I've seen them in every city I've been in for more than a day. Just walking, looking around. Once I saw them stop to write something on a pad of paper, and their hands moved too fast and too jerkily. I've never seen them eat, or sit down, or have a conversation more than the barest of words necessary for whatever they want. Most people inspire a feeling of some sort when you look at them; generally, that feeling is "person." Nothing special. Occasionally, you get "weird person," or "dangerous person," or "interesting person." The feeling I get when I see them can't be summed up as anything with "person" in it. They feel cold, and clinical. They observe, and document. They go into buildings, they walk around them, and they walk out without talking to anyone, or touching anything. I've tailed them a few times, but I can never catch up to them, and I always lose them around a corner or through a doorway. I don't know what would I would do if I actually caught up to them.

You know that greentext saying, if you're ever suicidal you should just do crazy shit like skydiving or fucking hookers or blowing all your money on travelling the globe, since you dont care if you die anyways? If you ever feel suicidal read: dont mind going to jail you should find these 'off' people and bash their heads in to see whats up lol. You're either correct or mentally ill m8

Have you ever had any encounters with shadow-like figures or demons an' the like? Those things scare me the most.
User avatar #262 - jokexplain (04/27/2015) [-]
Yes. I may or may not at some point write about it.
User avatar #263 - cancerlobster (04/27/2015) [-]
Aight then. No pressure.

These are horrifying but I can't stop reading these. The freaky animals, 'off' people, and waking up in odd places get to me the most. Care to elaborate more on the waking up in odd places?
User avatar #175 - jokexplain (04/26/2015) [-]
Sure. Happens about twice a year, to me. It always happens when I'm sleeping for the night, not during any sort of nap. I have been known to occasionally sleepwalk, especially when I was a younger child, but when I sleepwalk I'm loud and clunky and never leave the house. I don't seem to understand the concept of doorknobs when I'm sleepwalking. (I understand refrigerator doors when sleepwalking though. I once consumed nearly a whole 32 pack of pudding cups during a sleepwalk.) Anyway, when it happens, it's something different. The one where I went from colorado to salt lake city in two hours was the only impossible one; meaning, I could conceivably have gotten from where I fell asleep to where I woke up, every time but that one. And every time it happens, I'm fully dressed, appropriate for the weather. I have my wallet, and cellphone, and keys, and I'm generally outside a location, with hardly any people around. Sometimes my truck will be nearby, sometimes it won't. I'm never tired, though. Fully refreshed. I've woken up outside museums, hotels, government buildings, restaurants, in parks, and once in a hotel lobby. In the hotel lobby, when I asked the staff, none of them had seen me come in and sit down. Four things hold true for every time this has happened to me, except for one; nobody sees me leave my house, nobody around when I wake up has seen me get there, I'm looking at my watch or the time on my phone when I wake up, and I have something in my pockets that I haven't seen before. Three guitar picks, a short length of paracord, a pocketknife, all things I would normally carry, and they feel familiar, but they're not mine. I have been thoroughly checked by psychologists and neural specialists; no alternate personalities, no disorders, nothing weird in my brain. I'm pretty okay with these occurrences, actually; I always wake up somewhere interesting, with a present. Once the present was a snickers bar!

This one was way more upbeat than I expected, That was pretty nice...I wish I had a magic candy bar and 32 pudding cups.

The only thing that irks me about them is that I have several blood pressure medications I have to take twice daily, and when I wake up somewhere I don't know whether I've taken them or not. Also that I have to call someone for a ride. But however I get where I get to, I don't spend any of my money; I'm pretty much a debit card only kind of guy and that stuff comes with thorough records
User avatar #184 - falloutreaper (04/26/2015) [-]
Yeah that drives up the concern there with meds. I was also wondering about your buddies and how many of them experienced these things with you, have you ever just double checked with them to see if you both saw the same thing?
User avatar #185 - jokexplain (04/26/2015) [-]
Oh yeah. Whenever something spooky happens around me and there's other people, they see exactly what I see and hear what I hear. Regardless of their connection to me or prior beliefs as to the supernatural.

Your true calling is to hunt down the super-natural.

I'm always skeptical about these kinds of things but true or not these are neat/spoopy. I'm not gonna bug you for a bunch but thanks for sharing man.
