#139637 - 1.) Are there any signs of a girl liking me while texting me?…  [+] (3 new replies) 06/20/2014 on Advice - love advice,... 0

1) This should be fairly easy to note; If she dedicates more time to texting you than most people should, then she probably likes you. If you're at the whole "Good morning" and "Good night" phase already, then it's safe to assume she likes you.
Also, in general, smiley faces don't mean anything. Unless she's throwing out Winkey-Faces and Hearts...

2) Any mixture of these signs: www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/mvq7q/men_how_do_i_flirt_with_you_without_you_thinking/c34a61u
Also, if it's just you and here, again, fairly safe to assume she likes you.

if you're gonna be the only guy with her there

Just give it up, if you haven't gotten there by now you'll never get anywhere
User avatar #121319 - karlKroenen (03/10/2014) [-]
You'll either find a way or you will find an excuse. I know the whole wake up determined to do something then not following through with it feeling. I've done it plenty of times.
Sometimes we need a little push. Don't let the fact that I'm some unknown person on some far corner of the internet change how you will receive my advice. You came here for advice, and I'm going to fucking give some. Why I picked this comment? I don't know, perhaps I see you as I was a few years ago and don't want you to feel the guilt that I have. More than likely, just like any advice that I was given, what I'm saying wont have an impact. Although, once in a long while somebody can tell us something that gives us that little push that we need.

Success occurs when your dreams get bigger than your excuses. If you want to get good at guitar, after this paragraph, turn off your computer and go look at yourself in the mirror. Ask yourself if you are ready to change. If yes, Tell yourself that you will play guitar every single morning/night. And tomorrow look at yourself again. Know that you either lied or told the truth to that person in the mirror. In a month you will either have been honest with yourself or not, and if you cant be honest with yourself then you will be back at square one, asking for another bout of advice on this here site. You are going to have to catch yourself every time you start making an excuse and, in that moment, remember the person in the mirror.
If you read this and decided to change, know that there's fire ahead. But know that what matters most is how well you walk through the fire. Now, go. Become something great.

Thank you. This was the push I needed. After years of fucking around and expecting the guitar to do wonders FOR me, I'm pretty certain I'm ready for this change.

You said that you have a crush on your best friend, seeing as how you are such close friends you may want to tell them how you feel now. If the relationship was meant to be and goes well then you two should not have a hard time staying together during your college years. If he/she turns you down then move on with your life and if it doesn't work out then move on. You're young so moving on will not be too difficult.

It really depends on the college you go to.
I'm in a community college and it's so much less irritating than high school.
There are no stupid people so there's no need for stupid rules. Everyone there cares about their education.
If you want to use your phone or screw around in class, fine. It's your money and scholarship on the line.
User avatar #119106 - gabsmatags (03/02/2014) [-]
Fellow community college student here. From what I've observed, community college is attended by a larger adult population and are therefore much more mature and committed to education. Having visited my friends who are away at university, they are very much caught up in the party scene along with every other 18 year old away from home and adult supervision for the first time ever. Going to community college keeps you close to home and the people you already know and love, but going away opens up a new social experience with new people. OP, do whatever you are comfortable with. Open yourself up to this new chapter of your life and really indulge in it (interpret that how you will, I choose to indulge intellectually), but take the time and effort to keep your most important bonds strong.

I have been in touch with my best friends, we visit eachothers college and see eachother over break. when you go to college focus on making new friends and a new experience but remember you will still get to hang with your old friends every once and a while.

College is just as shitty as High School. The only difference is that you have to live with these pot smoking morons.
User avatar #118882 - bondofsnow (02/28/2014) [-]
I don't think college is that bad, in fact I like it more than high school. No need to worry too much about it. Are you moving away from home to go to school, or are you commuting from home?
User avatar #118905 - ptffo (02/28/2014) [-]
Most likely going to move away from home. Knowing myself, I couldn't focus enough at home.

Most of those are core, not metal.
User avatar #96037 - advicedude (09/17/2013) [-]
It's all the same to me.
User avatar #96066 - heraske (09/18/2013) [-]
Just trying to be friendly here, but the difference between core and metal is that Core usually doesn't really have solos (some bands do solo, but the ones I've heard my Ex-core band listen to didn't have solos, only leads.) They usually do a 05050505 or a "chuggalugga" riffing, along with break downs.

Metal on the other hand is faster hand barely has break downs, maybe like 100 out of every 10,000 songs, most likely less since this is just a guesstimation. Most metal songs has Solos galore. And Metal seldomly/never has that power-fry-emo-screaming bullshit going on. Usually clean vocals, or growls, or Higher pitched Guttural Growls.

What advicedude said.

Also, some songs end up being easier to play than they sound. This could be due to various effects being used on the guitar, or maybe it just sounds more complex than it is.

I don't know what you're using for tabs, but ultimate-guitar.com has a shitton of tabs for many songs, and there are usually more than one version of a song. Look up the song there and see if there's another version that feels more correct.
User avatar #95079 - advicedude (09/12/2013) [-]

Talk to him. be like "Bro. You're cool but I'm really not down with this shit man. Like it was fun but I'm off that" or whatever.

If he chooses not to be your friend as a result that's his decision but you gotta look after yourself and what you want!
