Well you need a shit load of Coins to win some battles sometimes, which is bullshit btw, but you get them constantly, I eman after 1 stage I got 1200 coins once, so it isnt a big deal.

Stickers is what you need to win, but if your good basic jump/hammer stickers will win it.

Again a bit of a let down.

Actually what made it kinda suck is that there is literally no reason to engage in battles, honestly run past them, it doesnt matter most of the time.

I just beat Sticker Star. The premise is there is a festival for the Sticker Comet or something where all the citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom celebrate with tons of stickers everywhere. The Sticker Comet comes down and floats on the main stage with Mario and Peach. Bowser, hearing of the might power of the sticker star, goes to try and steal it. As soon as he touches it, the comet breaks up into several parts and 6 "Royal" stickers go flying away.

The main "Royal" star lands on top of Bowser and gives him incredible power and strength which he uses to crumple up Mario and leave with the Princess. Mario awakes to find the town in ruins. Suddenly, a very angry (and super annoying) sticker named Keirsty, or something weird like that, starts wailing on Mario blaming him for the Comet disaster and how he must now go and collect all 6 of the royal stickers. So Mario treks out with Keirsty to go and collect them.

What makes this Paper different from the others it 1.) No partners-ever 2.) No FP 3.) You can only attack as long as you have a sticker for the attack. If you run out of stickers, you're out of luck. There are other differences but those are like the few big ones that come to mind.

What I really hope for in the next one is a game feel like TTYD but a play style like super paper mario (only a lot harder and with more advanced mechanics)
User avatar
#53 - mushyking (04/29/2013) [-]
I'll say. It was definitely a little off-putting at first. In all honesty, I think they really dropped the bar with this one.

But I like your idea for the next one. TTYD is the best, in my eyes, and I definitely would like to see more like them

Sure Super paper mario was about the whole universe getting destroyed, (heck it actually happened in Super mario Galaxy, but Rosalina did a system restore), but the tone just seemed light hearted and kinda silly overall, even though there was frequent death and murder, creepy ass villians (I.e. Mimi and the underwhere hands), antichrist allegories, etc. In TTYD, you really felt the darkness try to consume you.
User avatar
#56 - mushyking (04/29/2013) [-]
That is so true! I never really thought about it until now but holy cow that game was dark. Mimi is actually my favorite sidekick and the reason alone is the fact she is so dark and mysterious and kicks ass at it. Just out of curiosity, what were the antichrist allegories? Was it the Princess turning evil or something?

This fucker right here. Wrote the dark prostiginus ( i know i didnt spell it right) and manipulated everyone. Hell, even when he didn't have his way, he used his remaining existence to continue control over the chaos heart, so instead of making more worlds at least and new lives, everything would just cease to exist.

Dimentio is dark enough to be classified to be a Zelda villain or hell an Earthbound Villain

Planted a Mind Control Seed inside of Luigi and fused him with the dark prognosticus to try to destroy Mario and Co.

Sticker Star involves some Ceremony with the Magic Stickers, Bowser crashes the Party gets super strong and all the legendary stickers are scattered. Its your job to get them back from bowser. Each Legendary sticker gives each enemy weird powers like making a Goomba huge.

The battle mechanics are different, and require a constant use of stickers to play. Also there is no leveling in the game anymore.

The Plot entails Mario being invited to the castle, bowser crashing the party with a star rod, and gaining ultimate power from it. Then Mario has to collect the 8 star spirits to defeat bowser.

The controls and timing are significantly harder than TYD

I actually like to go my games with 2 pokemon, instead of the full 6 group. The other 4 on my team were for HM's. By time I got to the elite four, with how I always set those 2 up, I almost always won within the first 2 trys.

it was such a long time ago, I don't remember. However with how I play the game, by that point, I would have only trained 2 Pokemon, most likely a cyndaquil, and either a sentret, or a hoot-hoot. By that point I believe my sentret would have been evolved, and I would have a Quilava
