You should really blame that on the EU being assholes and cutting you off like a fucking tumor. The way I see it, they're treating you like an example, like a cautionary tale, as if to say to the rest of the countries within the EU that independence is not worth it and they should just stay in line or else they end up in "ruin".

What? You get funding from the EU -> You leave -> You don't get funding from the EU. Easy as that.
My own research is funded by the EU so I know how this works. And I can only imagine what it must feel like to get it cut.

The EU fund university's all over Britain (and other countries) where the money is distributed internally. This money is given to the education sector of out country as being a member of the EU. The EU doesn't choose how we use it. They haven't cut me off, the British public has done that. All other post grads who face the same problems in the next few year will have to put their research on hold. Research which could change peoples lives... But obviously burning bridges is the best thing to do right?

Now i'm looking for other investors, which is impossible as most companies have taken a step back to see what happens with our country. Airbus use to be a big contributor and they released emails stating that they will be pulling funding as they move to continental Europe (Thank god they don't sponsor me).

I just think that everyone who voted leave lives in a bubble where they no fuck all will change to them but it has made a huge difference already to others.

Listen, I don't want to come across hostile but I would like you to go to work and ask your Muslim coworkers what they think of Sharia law. If they answer that they think it's barbaric and has no place in modern society, congratulations, you've found the sort of Muslims that the world needs to bring about the reformation the Islamic faith so desperately needs. If they don't condemn the barbaric acts dictated by their book of faith, then you may want to reconsider them in a new light.

And the "stealing jobs" thing is exactly what Trump intends to do, reward companies for staying in America and hiring Americans, whether they are legal immigrants or Native Americans. He hates that companies have to outsource work or hire unskilled underpaid labor to remain competitive.

As these people are my friends, I know that they don't practice the Sharia law and they would possibly agree that its outdated. This is what i'm trying to get at. You thought of them as barbaric without knowing what real world modern Muslims are like. Trump and his followers won't allow them into America and will create a hate around them. Do you think that's just fuelling extremism in the first place? The only difference between a Christian gunman and a Muslim extremist is really just racism.

I do understand where you come from illegal immigration, but he wants to put high tariffs on imports? This is called protectionism. Didn't work out well for america 90 years ago.

To be fair, I shouldn't be arguing as I don't live in America so I have never experienced what its like. However from an outsider, I can't believe people seem to be following him blindly. He encouraged people at rallys to hit other people if they were doing peaceful protests?! Anyway, I will keep my mouth shut now and just watch.
