If you're in a field with less than 10% of females then you probably realise that you're an exception.
My job right now is very physically demanding, most of the guys I work with are 20 to 40 kg bigger than me and I'm probably the youngest there, maybe one guy is younger, I'm not sure. What I'm saying is, that it's pretty hard.
But there isn't a single female to be seen there, they just couldn't do it, it would be too hard for any female, normal one at least.
Of course there could be exceptions, but no one even bothers offering the job to girls, because maybe one in hundred would try, and leave after 4 hours like so many guys have already done.
It's not about being ladylike, it's about being able to do the job, simple as that.

lots of women are against it just because nobody wants to be drafted. even lots of equality types dont want to. its mainly the spoiled brats that want only advantages and zero drawbacks to equality.
#13 - anon (07/07/2016) [-]
The only argument you need against that is that these same women didn't give a fuck about the draft when only men had to sign up for it. Also, considering that the US is a global superpower and the possibility of another world war is still on the table, it would be irresponsible NOT to have a draft in case it's needed.

Whoa whoa whoa, are you saying some women support some things and other women support other things? Preposterous.

That being said equality is kind of a package deal. Anyone that stands for it needs to commit to the whole package or they're a hypocrite. With that in mind there is A LOT of women that stood behind the banner of equality when it was working in their favor who hate the idea of being drafted and more than a few that are 'switching sides' now that it's coming back to haunt them.

I'm glad to see a level headed woman on FJ, you don't see many because as soon as you say something I see others replying with "hurr durr your wrong" and the like, what particular construction field do you work in?

I'm in a pre-apprenticeship program right now, trying to get into stationary engineering (building maintenance). My past experience is rough carpentry, though (building wood frames of houses and stuff).

to be honest, women actually tend to make poor solders, literally for the physical reasons, make great support though, but feminism is all about putting women on the front lines, even when that's literally not a good idea for biological or reasonable reasons

Yeah most women won't make as good soldiers as men, I agree with that. But nothing wrong with women being in the front lines. need as much support as you can get really.

You realise that weak/bad soldiers not only put their own life in danger, but the lives of their squad mates as well?
No soldier will want a weak link in their squad when their life is on the line.
A woman who can't keep up will be a liability, not an advantage, and that would be the case most of the time simply because of how men and women are built.
Unless you're talking about women being cannon fodder which I don't agree with either.
They are simply less physically capable, especially in extreme danger situations.

drafted soldiers are rarely any sort of 'good' and are usually just tossed on the front line to die. Sure having 1 'weak' soldier in a squad with 9 good soldiers will weaken the squad as a whole, but having 10 bad soldiers all in their own squad is just an extra squad of crappy soldiers that can soften the enemy forces.

The whole concept of drafting soldiers is mostly just to get a whole bunch of cannon fodder quickly and it generally involves rushing hundreds of under prepared 'weak/bad' soldiers onto the battlefield.

yeah thats not true, plenty of thne SJW's who say the draft can't be for women play sports

Ya but says who? Because it seems to mostly come from FJ, which isn't subtle at all with cherrypicking for whatever makes feminism looks bad. Hell, for a good while there were apparently no feminism pages against male rape, yet it took me five seconds on Google to find a few.

So yeah, take FJ's posts with about as much trust as tumblr, both are cherrypicking instead of making a valid point.

I guess that's what I get for speaking for others. I don't play sports, I just work in construction. Maybe the difference is that in women's sports, you are still working with only women. In the trades, you are lucky to see a single other woman worker (in my area). There is respect for veterans and programs to help them get jobs. I work with them. I've considered enlisting myself, but I have certain health problems. As a woman a field that is less than 10% female, I call bullshit on anyone saying a job isn't "ladylike".
