I stopped being creative ages ago. I just read so I can pass the time more quickly until I can come home and pass the time quickly with videogames. =P
The office I'm in is full of moths, so last night I took about ten rubber bands and started killing as many as I could. In my mind, there was some hippie trying to argue against my "cruelty," because I reflected on what others would think of how I was more amused by the struggling of moths with mangled wings than the ones I killed outright with a rubber band to the body (I was making a sport of it, aiming from five feet away, so most of the time I was missing) and as I went over how insignificant these creatures were, I realize that we, men, were as much moths as the pests I was killing. Moths live for a day and they spend that time meandering in search of heat and light. They breed so that more moths can live for a mere day and continue the interminable quest. Men live for a brief time and spend their lives meandering in search of meaning or fulfillment. When they're gone, their offspring continue the interminable quest. As insignificant as a moth is, our lives are equally futile and aimless. At least, that's what I concluded in the whole five minutes I thought about it before throwing the dozen moth bodies that had piled up on the ground in the trash.
I go to work, I come back and sleep or play games, I hardly get to see my bf, and I feel like a moth. There's no fucking way I could write a book about or during work.

Well, I sit on my ass reading a book for ten dollars an hour. I wish I had some actual work to do at work.

you could turn it into a game, or take what you learn from the books you read and create your own story. and if you think its good enough you can see if there is a publishing company near you that will publicize your book.

Aw, man. That can't be lucrative.
I hope you find an employer out there. Later.
User avatar #54 - ponchovia (06/10/2015) [-]
not unless you know your market, and you can haggle competitive prices. only people willing to go lower than me are kids who don't know what their work is worth, but compared to professional companies with twenty plus employees i'm as cheap as anyone can get, 35 to 45 based on size of the lawn, unless they are elderly then it's a flat rate of 25. and that's not including edging, bagging, or pulling weeds out of their flower beds if they have them.

I'm a good host and I'm going to be a kickass DM if we get the RP board up.
#29 to #27 - dashgamer (04/25/2013) [-]
To accept a person officially into the thread, there needs to be unanimous agreement between all current members. All newbs will have a two to three day trial period during which we'll all see if they can get along with the rest of us. If someone isn't there to vouch for or against them during their trial period, meaning that they're offline or don't post in the thread during that time, their vote is null.
The normal way of expanding this thread would be to have friends invite friends upon friends, however, a person cannot enter the thread solely because they are the friend of a friend. If you have someone in mind that you know will abide by the thread's rules and get along with everyone, run them by myself, iamkagji, and txsslg first. Just summon us to their profile, and we shall interrogate viciously and relentlessly. =D We want to have a sizable community, sure, but the goal isn't to expand, the goal is to make friends and have fun times.
You don't need a grace period or any of that, because we know how you are, but that's the policy for the future. This community's going to be set up in a way that every user has a say in any disputes or conflicts that may arise, and because of this unanimous agreement that's implicit for people to join, there shouldn't be any conflict. =] Kagji is the host, I'm the Sherrif, Tex is our Daytime Deputy.
User avatar #33 to #29 - ponchovia (04/25/2013) [-]
seems fair and i'll do what i can to keep up with what goes on in the community when i'm off work (keep in mind most of the time i forget to log out when i go to work) and i shall do all i can to keep to the laws you guys have set (shouldn't be that hard i tend to keep a neutral ground most of the time) is there any thing else i should take notice of? after all the rules are simple and strait forward
User avatar #37 to #33 - iamkagji (04/25/2013) [-]
Well, Dashgamer's comment with the exception of the RP board. You'll have to keep current on that if you want to play along, but being there every day is not required.
User avatar #35 to #33 - dashgamer (04/25/2013) [-]
Nope. It's all straightforward and simple, as you said. Nothing more convoluted than some people talking with one another.
User avatar #38 to #35 - ponchovia (04/25/2013) [-]
alrighty
#28 to #27 - iamkagji (04/25/2013) [-]
Glad to hear it. Here's the rules, dashgamer and txsslg should be here sometime soon to talk to you. Any questions?
User avatar #30 to #28 - ponchovia (04/25/2013) [-]
no questions here it all seems strait forward to me
User avatar #32 to #30 - iamkagji (04/25/2013) [-]
Awesome. As a formality, I still have to wait for txsslg to talk to you before sending you a link and invite. I have you on a list, so just be patient. It should be done rather soon.
