if you buy from people who are reliable it's no problem, the reason people go blind is because some fucker has mixed it with paintremover or some other alcohol based shit, normal moonshine wont make you go blind, i got a small still at home for making 40-45% and no one has gone blind from drinking that ^^

haha back home in the ol' netherlands i've got a friend who makes his own booze. it's not great for drinking on its own. but i've got a family recipe for a drink called 'dropshot' and it's awesome if you make it with his home brew stuff.

also great for mixing with coke or other shit.

If you are going to work there then you should be OK and be able to afford some decent food, the people are really nice but they just don't understand that there are people that may have financial difficulties.
After I saw the prices of the canteen of the University where I was, I asked to the office if there was some kind of financial aid or something like that about the food.
"we never heard of anything like that" was the answer.
Think carefully, if you like quiet and nature and don't care much about food, then you will enjoy the place.

To be fair it probably doesn't help that your Italian, you went from the country with the best food in the world to a country with some of the worst.

Norway is not like the rest of Scandinavia. Food is so goddamn expensive in Norway for three reasons:
1. It's all mountains/"fjäll", meaning transport costs are up

2. It's sparsely populated compared to much og northern europe. Again, this means higher transport prices for the end-consumers.

3. Norwegians are crazy rich from the oil-money, so taxes (and avg. purchasing power) is very high.

My point is: the Norwegian kitchen sucks. Danish food can be fucking awesome though, especially the fish, bread, "grød" (what is that even in english?) and pork dishes.

we're not crazy rich due to the taxes, i rent a 2 bedroom apartment (60sqm) and that costs me 9500kr which is insanely cheap. you get 30sqm apartments without a bedroom for that price normally, it's about 1500 dollars if im not mistaken, and buying food costs money so we're not rich. though the government is hehehe

Yeah I can imagine. Norway has some good food though, but the college students look like they don't know any.
I've seen people going on with frozen pizza for all the winter and spring.

The food here isn't bad though, it's just the traditional food that's tasteless.
Traditional food is only eaten by the elderly (and hardly them anymore) and during Christmas. We mostly eat Thai, Chinese, Italian, Mexican and American food for most of the year, and I'd vager to say some of the best because we only do quality ingredients.

The food is expensive most of the time, but if you compare prices and make good use of deals like 50% off because approaching expiry date, it shouldn't be that bad.

Norway has good fod, but most students and such only eat pre-cooked meals and unhealthy, cheap stuff
#98 - anon (07/08/2015) [-]
go to Denmark instead. way better food, slightly lower prices (much lower prices on alcohol and cigarrettes though).
#99 - totl (07/08/2015) [-]
i don't give a damn about alcohol and cigarettes, so i don't mind them being expensive.
