i have the same opinion as #255( marimiteistasty ). Just like he said, it doesn't give off the same vibe as the other fallouts and I don't like the way it's looking, but I really want to play this game. I had so much fun playing fo3 and new vegas so I really want to play this one.
pls dont hurt me

bam! here's something else for you
could definitely be just bs but i mean it's looking pretty accurate
bringing this up on account of the reference of leaked doccuments... which could very well be the script i sent you right. 11 months ago

its fake. she went for the lowest hanging fruit, and anyone who states " noh i got fired for leaking documents" and proceeds to leak documents to spite their former employer is a career killing move.. if it was real.
links basically disproving sandra reed

Nice! Yeah, it lines up quite well with everything else we know as of yet, I think.
Good to "know" that the PS3/Xbox360 versions are being developed separately to the "proper" version.
The savegame importing bit is a bit vague - "Also, players of the PS3/360 version will be pleased to know that Fallout 4 will be able to import your Fallout 3 save, and adapt choices you made from that game for Fallout 4."
Would that mean this feature is not coming for PC? Who knows.
By the way, the commentators on that post are going to eat their own words, writing things like this is definitely written by a male. if you work at Bethesda, would you write so sloppy and in poor English? A world class developer would not write this garbage. very amateurish and stupid. no new actors named, just recycle older actors names and older characters of the game. how original...haha and SURE THING, A 40% GAME COMPLETED WHERE AN EMPLOYEE KNOS WHEN THE DLC'S WILL BE RELEASED BEFORE THEY ARE EVEN FINISHED. OK SURE, HAHHA BS and had to sign up just to laugh at this. HA!
the fakest thing i've ever read.
not only has todd howard pretty much confirmed it's next gen only, the company's entire motto is essentially "play how you want." restricting choice (as in gender) is something they'd never do. bringing over previous choices is also something they wouldn't do. also, "3 times as large as skyrim" is impossible. skyrim took 3 years in full active development. they can't triple that in just one year.
it's also impossible to complete the game in just 1 more year if it's only at 40% completion, and they don't plan out dlc before launch.
this post was such a poorly made hoax. at least try a little harder next time.
also, fallout 3 on xbox was around 5 gbs. that should be enough of a reason to prove this is fake.
alright so tl;dr it's soooo fake.
bye reddit! . Reminds me once more of how cancerous Reddit can be.

What's wrong with the way it looks?
>or the fact that he's able to speak
He's said a single sentence in a trailer, which could imply that all of your speech options are voiced, which assuming they don't fuck it up, is a welcome 21st century improvement.
>i've read some of what is apparently a leak of the script and i don't like that much neither
Link, but I'm incredibly doubtful it's legit considering how well they've kept the project secret. Seriously the only evidence that Fallout 4 was in development up until the teaser site that wasn't The fact that they have had plans for more than two Fallout games since acquiring the licence way back when or the skyrim team moving onto another project , were a twitter post, a LinkedIn profile, supposed leaked documents about Boston from Reddit/Kotaku and Bethesda scheduling an event at E3.
And those rumors only really told us three things - Fallout 4 is coming duh , it's probably in Boston, Three Dog may be coming back.
Compared to a script of the game, that's pretty insubstantial.
>i do like that they're taking a new direction, just... this isn't giving off the same feel as the fallout i know and love.
What are you going on about? There are vertibirds and a blimp and 'ol Ironsides has jets. Considering most of what we know about postwar Boston area is the Institute, which is former MIT and is super high-tech, it makes sense.
The only new direction I see is the vault opening being vertical.
#341 - marmiteistasty (06/04/2015) [-]
>i've played my fair share of fallout 1, 3, and new vegas, and while arguably the wash over everything that makes it basically one colour throughout is pretty crappy, it makes sense for a fallout game. not saying bring it back or anything, just that the contrast and saturation throw me off a bit.
>since the fallout player characters are always silent, it kinda leaves it to you to imagine what your character sounds like and whatnot. i mean, fallout 3 had a fuckton of dialogue, and besides me being doubtful that every line of the player character's will be voiced i wouldn't mind the player character occasionally saying things like when entering a new area.
hey i mean it definitely could be bs but i don't find it too far fetched, and the picture of the man on the top looks a decent bit like the man in the trailer
>direction wise, everything seems almost too advanced for a fallout game. like it looks a lot less like post apocalypse fallout game and more like borderlands with a different art style. i get that the area has a high concentration of prewar tech. i even like the idea that you might be able to use this tech to travel around and all. just don't think it fits for this game.
>maybe im just looking for new vegas remastered or something, but that's my opinion on it. no need to take offence to it.
that last bit was funny. about the vault .
#344 - xexion (06/05/2015) [-]
When you actually look at it;
1) given how nuclear fallout works, a lot of FO3 is just plain wrong
2) FO3 and NV have an overabundance of rust colored tin shacks despite their surroundings looking fine.
I feel as if I'm the only one who didn't notice the change in color.
I'm doubtful about the MC being voiced, unless there is full voicing for women as well, considering the history of bethesda when it comes to character creation.
That 'script' is fanmade:
>Doesn't introduce the games setting, location, story, or hell even vault number
>Even if it does take place as the vaults close, it doesn't mention any recent events, nor what is going on beside the world 'unraveling'
>It tells us the following details: War never changes, I've got a wife and kid, my great-great grandfather was in WWII, and apparently I was in the army.
>The 'war never changes' intros usually do the following: Summarize great war, usually an anecdote about human behavior/history, what's going on in your region (game story), and where you fit in. Also always mention vaults.
>Having the MC make the speech either makes that person voiced by Ron Perlman (doubtful) or there are two 'war never changes' monologues (doubtful) or Ron Perlman isn't doing it this time (lets just kill all of our fans why don't we)
>They've never ended with 'war...war never changes'
Too advanced? This looks like Fallout in a region that hasn't been nuked to oblivion, or has had enough time to start recovering. The land is still full of garbage and destruction, and as for tech, the Institute we know for a fact creates androids inseparable from humans, ofc it's high fucking tech. Besides that the only thing we see in the trailer that we haven't already seen in Fallout games is a zeppelin. Oh and ironsides with rockets strapped on. Both are ridiculous and doomed to failure, therefore fitting in perfectly with Fallout.
And yes it's punny

10 years? No chance.
The great war and the nuclear rocket launches started on the 23 october of 2077. The Fallout wiki states that in 2082, five years later: "Radiation and poison levels are still too high for a normal human to survive."
In 2090, an important character named Harold (who appeared in several games) left vault 29 to make a fortune as a trader. It didn't take long for him to turn into a mutant. A special one, actually, with a plant growing out of his head.
By the way, Fallout 3 is set in 2277, Fallout New Vegas is set in 2281.

Love that you get a proper German Shepherd, that Robodog didn´t really scratch that itch for me.
And I love the variety of scenarios, some pre-war stuff, some good ole scavenging, multiple big cities to explore, addition of aircraft...
If i´ve learned something over the last years, that´d be not to get hyped, not to take trailers or even supposed gameplay vids at face value, and wait for at least 10 days after launch to buy something. But this... this is really tempting...

I mean I'd expect more dynamic fur on a pet that seems to have such a huge role in the game, but I won't be too picky

im sorry do you play the games for the graphics? you should probably just watch a movie then. true i hate it when game developers say their graphics will be amazing and then bring out sub optimal graphics, but that doesnt make me hate the game, it makes me hate that they lie
#249 - Rascal (06/03/2015) [-]
That response is such a fucking cop out, don't act like graphics are absolutely unnecessary. I don't think the game looks bad, but bad graphics can easily make a game feel less immersive especially when they try to be more realistic rather than styled.
Seriously, even a game with amazing writing can be brought down if it looks bad enough, and even worse when it looks like the devs just didn't care about looks either. This doesn't apply to Fallout as much, but I've played games and been turned off when I've seen obviously lazy art.

id love to get a pc, but my family is kinda poor. i was able to get a ps4 right before we lost most of our money. i work 2 jobs for my family and rarely get to play ps4, but im so glad and grateful i got to get it. me and my kids play it together. plan on gettin fallout 4 once i get an incoming raise. woot

I'd like to know how I'm behaving like a feminist. I don't remember screaming at you, I said how can you judge a game based on a cinematic trailer? Fallout has never been known for stellar graphics, it's known for its deep atmosphere, crucial choices and intense gameplay, none of which is shown here. Even when I got New Vegas, when it was still new, I noticed the graphics were subpar compared to the most recent CoD(whichever one it was. Black Ops? I dunno). But I still enjoyed the fuck out of it.
I'm sorry if I seemed angry at your opinion, but a cinematic trailer's point is to show off some graphics and let the world know your game is coming. So what else could be underwhelming, other than the graphics? The fact that the game is coming?
#331 - bombadealar (06/04/2015) [-]
as said.... it "LOOKS" underwhelming could mean I just commented on the looks of the game. Never I dared to critique the game in the whole or the gameplay. I don't know how many more comments I need to make bevore you get that I just commented on the looks of the game and you can't denie that it looks kinda underwhelming for a game of 2015
#320 - xexion (06/04/2015) [-]
God you sound like a feminist blowing the fuck up when someone says: 'Hey don't judge a game by it's trailer'
