There is no such thing as "100 percent" proof. Any scientist and thinker would acknowledge. We have compared radiometric dating methods to ice core dating, geomagnetic dating and tree ring dating with great accuracy.

Plus are you suggest "seeing is believing" with your comment about a video of Antarctica? In that case, you might as well be neutral about the existence of protons and electrons, because that is just "a video of some fags putting elements in magnetic fields and punching numbers into their calculators".

I am Actually pretty neutral about everything. You're just going to be dead after 80 years or so anyways so why waste your time with all that crap. I believe in what i can see and touch. Maybe if i was parilized or had in accident where i lost my PENIS i might study into more of this boring stuff and try to see what i could prove. I guess im just not interested enough to care.

Great. I have seen videos, pictures and scientific documentation on fossils, so I assume they exist. I am certain the earths core is made of iron because we've sent seismic waves through there and the velocity at which is passed through tells us that the material is solid iron/nickel. "Seems more like rough estimates" mind telling me what piece of evidence you used to arrive at that piece of information? "Seems" is a subjective feeling and has no place in determining truth. When used properly, the dating method used for fossils has about a 2% error margin.

ok so how do you prove it is right? how do you prove something is 10,000 years old? do you have something else that you can 100 percent prove that is 10,000 years old to compare it to? and a video of antarctica is a little different than a video of some fags putting chemicals on a peice of clay and punching numbers into their calculators.

Yes. the methods used to date the fossils and categorize the living world are complex but open to the public. Whenever the methods have been checked they're pretty solid. no method is perfect but the general mountain of data is sufficiently solid to draw conclusions from. You can always say It's not true la la la la la la.... but the evidence is unanimous.

For those who work in the fields and I who do not I have `faith' in the evidence to a degree... I know scientists, i am one, who try to screw each others competing theories to pieces from day one to such a degree I take their conclusions as `better that my reckonings or the words that suspiciously claim to be correct'.
User avatar #151 - pRnoStar (06/05/2011) [-]
so how exactly do you make a solid conclusion that something is really 10,000 years old?
User avatar #128 - CaptainObviousMan (06/05/2011) [-]
Likewise, I could say, how do you know Antarctica exists? Have you been there and looked at it with your own eyes, or have you just read about it on the internet, books or TV? How do you know the earth has an iron core? Have you been there and seen studied/seen it personally? Who created the seismic methods for analyzing these things? And how do you really know these methods work?

I know those method works. The dating method for instance is a simple logarithmic function found in many things in nature. You don't need to actually be actively involved to understand the concepts. Although I will eventually be involved.
User avatar #138 - pRnoStar (06/05/2011) [-]
Well i dont really know if antarctica, but i have seen videos of it so i assume it exists, and i wont ever be certain the earths core is made of iron unless they drill a hole right to it to prove it to me. I definetly dont believe their dating methods are acurate though. Seems more like rough estimates, and i believe those rough estimates can only go so far.

"there is no proof of evolution" >_>

Seriously? The dozens and dozens of ape to human transitional fossils weren't enough? Or the hundreds and hundreds of transitional fossils of other animals? Or the retroviral insertions that humans and chimps all share? Or the very principle of how DNA replication works? The nested tree pattern shown from the mapping of DNA? The documented cases of speciation in rapidly reproducing organisms?
