Tell him to atleast get a part time job? Small place where he can fuck around in atleast when nobody is there and since its a small business not as many customers or not much work. Schooling is always good but with the complicated financial situations of many it might be bad. I say go for it though. Never too old to go back. As long as you're dedicated to having a better life, motivated to stay on track, and keep that potential in you then you're set for life~ Hope everything goes well.

Hey, you probably don't remember this post, but I thought I should say thank you. This post inspired me to go out and look for other alternatives for my boyfriend to find employment at. He's manged to get at least some work at a local temp agency. I just wanted to say thank you very much and sorry for not replying sooner.

everyone is john seems perfect for this group, I wanted to get some laughs out of the game. but what do you mean by the old school being lethal?
#117 - organiclead (07/14/2014) [-]
Well, older D&D editions are less forgiving with their traps and rules. For example, in 2.0 instant death isn't that uncommon if you fail a roll. D&D 3.0 will dump a bunch of damage, but in 2.0 there are attacks that will drop you dead no matter how much HP you have or what resistances you have (unless you have a resistance to death attacks). For example in the infamous tomb of horrors, an AD&D adventure, there is a hallway where there is a portal to the next part of the dungeon and a sphere that will disintegrate you that stand side by side. They both look the same.

I agree, half of my family has diabetes and they all say that you can eat what you fucking want you just can't go kamikaze all in and eat a whole cake on you're own. My grandpa has type 1 and he eats cake and sweets everyday.

It's a way around it, however I prefer to inject as little insulin as possible and generally eat a lot more healthily because of it.
It's interesting to realise how sweet certain foods are after not eating them for well over a decade.
User avatar #15 - organiclead (07/08/2014) [-]
Each to their own, I'm just offering an alternative for actually being able to eat sweets should the desire ever come back. It's one of the small blessings type 1 has over type 2. The only thing I find it doesn't really work for is soda because that stuff's amazingly fast acting.

Well, to use some examples; I don't know if you heard about the woman with a blog dedicated to her young, chronically ill son. It was a sympathy blog where people showered her with support and encouragement. It turns out she was intentionally exacerbating his illness in order to keep him sick so she could keep raking in the attention. She ended up killing the kid (possibly intentionally) which lead to an investigation that revealed what she had been doing. It didn't take long for everyone with a cursory knowledge about psychology to diagnose her with "Munchhausen-by-proxy", a condition in which a person will fake someone elses illness for attention.

Now, the big news right now is the dad who intentionally left his young son to bake to death in a car. He even researched how long it would take for an "animal" to die in a sealed automobile. There are a lot of weird details about the circumstances but not once have I seen anyone mention the possibility of mental illness involved in this case.

Looking for anything that will take someone with only a little retail experience. I haven't gotten any calls back yet, but it's only a matter of time before I find something.

Things with you?

I tried getting a job at a pet store because its the only thing I have experience with.

They didn't hire me because I'm only 16 and have no license, despite running several home businesses myself in the past, such as breeding snakes and other animals, and making terrariums.

But no, lets hire the 19 year old that knows ******** about animals instead just because he can drive.
User avatar #20 to #19 - organiclead (10/01/2013) [-]
That's pretty screwed up. Sorry to hear the owners were dicks, though I guess it's really their loss. Any other pet stores in the area?

The other one I refuse to work at.

Its owned by my old room mates father that abused him and stole directly from him then kicked him out at 16.
They also have ****** quality merchandise.

Looking over the information, I find it kind of funny that they seemed to keep pretty much everything in terms of lore from the old Final Fantasy MMO and just renamed a lot of the races. Though the actual leveling system looks completely new. Curse my lack of time to dedicate to a new MMO!
