I never said the Language itself didn't have a bunch of arbitrary rules and dumb spelling. I'm saying that the people who speak it usually understand that it can be pretty bullshit and will work with people who took the time and effort to learn rather than be stuck up about being exact.

I can tell you that many native Spanish speakers take gendered pronouns seriously and will correct you at every turn, even when if means getting off topic.
Many people from places not used to English tourism will interrupt you for mistaking an "El" for a "La" for example and will become offended if you show annoyance at being interrupted.

Not one person learning english would be stupid enough to write 'fish' as 'dhoti'. We'll leave that kind of idiocy to you native speakers.

I'm not a native speaker. I study English at university and I grew up, like most of the people here, with a lot of English in my youth by means of games and tv n shit.
I'm just trying to point out that English isn't a phonetically logical language, which makes it quite hard for some people to learn.

Gh is only used as the last syllable to words.

O, I guess you could get away with that if you were creating a word, but you just don't do that.

Ti is only used in the middle of words, not the beginning or end.

"Ghoti" was created by English haters who can't understand simple rules they don't like. When in reality that would be pronounced "Goatee".

tis is true of all languages that are far enough away from your native language

On the upside, people who speak English are pretty lax when it comes to specifics. Even if you accidentally insulted them, so long as you get your point across we're usually fine if your English is a bit broken.

There are some languages where if you mess up in even an arbitrary way it can be seen as an insult. Or cultures where nearly every insult, even an accident of pronunciation , is something to be taken seriously looking at you japan.

Well yeah, but that's your culture and how you deal with people. The language on it's own is rather difficult. I'll give you an example how confusing English can really be.

Ghoti can be pronounced as fish.

- Gh from laugh
- O from women
- Ti from nation

U see how illogical this is to new learners?
