We know that torture is inefficient, and often produces bad information. This has the same drawback, except instead of spending several hours with the victim, you only have to stick around for 20minutes. Why in the world would you bother with torture?

Really? There is no drug in the world that can be used to anesthetize someone? I guess we all had better just forget about having surgery ever.

Yes, some of this stuff serves a reasonable purpose.

What I disagree with is the idea that you can shut people down because what they say could offend someone. The whole reason you should be going to college is to learn and learning happens best when ideas are exchanged. But if you have some asshat who claims to be offended by any ideas other than learning is being hindered. College is supposed to challenge your ideas and teach you, make you into a better and more knowledgeable, well rounded individual.

If you disagree with someone don't listen to them, or debater them. Try to convince them that they are wrong and you both might just walk away having learned something.

Personally the very best classes I had at UNH were those where I was debating with another student that I vehemently disagreed with. My opinions on issues were generally vastly different than most of my classmates, but when we explained our positions to each other we learned. Rarely were people swayed from their own view point entirely but it was quite common to combine the ideas and come out with something on both sides that was a more realistic and sensible.

If you start censoring opposing viewpoints then this exchange of ideas doesn't happen. If this topic only concerned things like rape which are serious topics then I wouldn't have any issue with it at all. But it get applied to anything that makes people feel uncomfortable, and being faced with someone who is telling you that you are wrong is uncomfortable. But being wrong happens a hell of a lot and people need to deal with being wrong in the real world.

Most people wouldn't really mind (though I'm not sure how paranoid the anti-SJWs are) if, by the professor's choice, in a class where something like rape was going to be discussed, the instructor said "Alright guys we're going to talk about some sensitive material" or whatever.

But it's different for a student to just expect this silly level of catering the way some of these tumblrinas and regressive-far-social-left bloggers are demanding, because they certainly won't be able to expect anything like that once they leave college and are on their own. You'll even find an almost identical opinion on TYT.

Not everyone's gonna agree with you or like you, that's just how life works. For college age people to think otherwise just shows how childish they are

I don't want to discredit you, but are you by any chance a college student?

the World is full of assholes and none one cares if your feelings get hurt, don't be such a pussy. Its a good thing because finally a school has had enough of the mockery this leftist coddling has made of education and of life in general.

I wouldn't say he so much plays favorites with humans. It's more he plays favorites with those that have the potential to do great amounts of good. He does save other races he encounters. And just because the people he does save look human, doesn't mean they are. A lot of the "humans" you see in the show, aren't actually humans. They just look like we do on the outside. For example: Time Lords and Humans are virtually indistinguishable from one another on the surface. You don't see the differences until you look at the inner structure of their bodies and the way their DNA is comprised.

that and he also only 'kills' people who are evil. i mean, the spider people were going to EAT the entire human race. the dalek and cybermen were goign to kill and or 'enslave' the entire human race. its not like he choses humans over everything else, he'll een save 'evil' people once they are 'defeated' but most of the time people undo his work
