of the building that is owned by a group which the FBI are currently trying to seize on corruption charges. even something small like possibly having to relocate your headquarters for a branch of the news business can bias a writer for or against. i'd rather them mention it and know than find out they had a reason to be biased and never say it.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree then, to me a more trained officer would have avoided such a confrontation, the guy had just helped a woman off the bus in front of her, he clearly wasn't being violent, maybe it's one of those "you had to be there situations".

I'll tell you what tho, I recently (about a month or so ago) had a confrontation on a bus, with three coke heads, they had a window opened, its winter here, it was 8 am it was cold as fuck, I was with a three friends, two girls one guy, I was sleeping on my seat, I woke up to the ruckus they created talking, I said nothing, I asked them politely to close the window, one of them refused to which I just replied with a "nah, you should really just close it now" Five or so minutes later, I wake up to two of these guys on my face, telling me how I'll get off the bus naked, and what not, and one asking me what I said in a low voice, I think I spent two minutes and dodged a spit or two trying to tell them to just get off the bus if that's what they were going to do, the driver did nothing, said nothing, when they started talking about punching me, I told them to just chill, and it wasn't until they threw the first punch that I started defending myself, I'm a big guy, and I kicked their asses, ended up throwing them off the bus, and some people with kids had to get off the bus, I just think that if me, a regular guy, had this much patience and calm mind with three obviously coked up guys, to have a two minute one sided rational argument with them, why wouldn't a trained officer at least try to use words on a guy that's clearly nonviolent. We're all different I understand that, but still I don't approve of that abuse of power, I had some confrontation with cops, even a coked up cop once that another cop came to take away (looong time ago) and I just can't stand it, when this shit happens.

Yes, I can't make more emphasis on how much I understand THAT PART.
What I don't understand is why was a gun pointed at him, in such a chaotic situation, when he wasn't being violent.
Watch the video again please, 2:45, tell me if you think that what the female officer did is the right thing to do, keep in mind she's supposed to be trained for situations like this.
Tell me that she didn't just LITERALLY jump the gun and jumped on that bus screeching creating a chaotic situation, that could have MAYBE just maybe put the deranged guy on an even more sharp edge than he already was, leading to him making a stupid action like perhaps getting the gun pointed at him out of his face, and maybe buy just maybe in the confusion and in between the woman screeching he didn't react to just saying "i surrender" like he should have.

Now with all of that in mind, we have on the one hand, a mental patient, on the other a police officer, who would you expect to do the right thing?

I understand what you are saying, but the truth is that you don't have the same information that the responding officers did. You have no idea what the call came in as. Did she respond more aggressively that I would have given the information that I have? Yes, I think so, but again I don't have all the information that she does and she didn't watch a video of this man on the bus ranting and raving like a lunatic.

Even crazy people, temporarily crazy people, people made crazy due to drug use are responsible for their actions in the moment.

What part of this don't you understand?
