Don't want to go to a gym? Want cheap way of working out? Need motivation? If that's the case my friend go to a torrent website and download P90X3 deluxe, it's a set of workout videos by Tony Horton, best home workout you'll find anywhere. All you need is a pull up bar (really cheap to find) and some dumbells (also not expensive) and you're fully equipped. As for motivation, the trainer is simply amazing and funny. Be warned though, the first month will be difficult as fuck for you, it's the same for everyone.
Also you'll need to change your diet, first thing to do - go to www.myfitnesspal.com/ or download their free droid/ios app and start counting your calorie intake, if you keep at it you'll get the hang of what to eat and what not to, I'd also suggest reading up a bit on eating/cooking whole foods.
Those two things worked out for me, lost about 20 lbs (10kg) in about 3.5 months.

Hey there! Why do you seem to be having trouble with it? Lacking of motivation?
Maybe you need a specific training plan. Then don't really have to think about being active and what you'll do, just get to follow the plan. Secondly could join a club or team for your favorite sport, would certainly make things more fun and drive your motivation!
Also if you need motivation, how about find an activity you can do with your partner? Could be more fun together and then you always have your motivation right beside you!
Lastly, don't stress about impressing her. If she's been with you for 5 years, no longer any need to show off. She loves you for who you really are!
