Its some pretty short sighted envious shit though. At best it will increase welfare and benefits, but it'll allow for less economic growth which means its ideals that wont create jobs.

His proposed tax code isn't even that radical. It would still be cheaper for the people having their taxes raised to just pay, than to do anything to circumvent it. Besides, one of the upper brackets that matches the income of successful small business owners even gets a tax cut, so yeah, not creating jobs my ass.

Also less money in politics means this insane bullshit of politics everywhere gets toned down at least a little bit, which is a welcomed change of pace for me.

heres the issues with that. sanders is getting a lot of support form unions which at this point in time are basicly corporations in their own right. then go in to the tax thing wherepeople that can be considered upper middle class will get a big increas in taxes while people better off then them will get a decrease. then you go to the people who have half of their income, more than any country in the world, taken away. this will do two things. encourage people to look for loopholes or make them go elsewhere.

something that a lot of people dont realize. when you or i have 15 percent of our income taken away thats 15 percent of what us and four other people have to live on. when you take 50 percent away from the owner of a major business you are taking 50 percent of what the owner and thousands of other people have to live on. add on sanders intention to double the minimum wage your looking at people having less to work with while having to pay more. now in all honesty will that effect them? probably not. however theyve grown accustomed to a certain lifestyle and preventing them from living that lifestyle will not encourage growth

Upper middle class is 230k plus? I don't know about you but that seems pretty upper upper middle class. Possibly beyond middle class.
Where I live middle class falls somewhere around 50k - 150k.
You do have a point with the rest though. Companies will cut costs where they need to, and as per current trend, that would mean layoffs. It's a tricky problem. Should we sellout our standard of living to keep jobs? or sell out our jobs for higher standard of living? Where is the happy medium? I don't personally think we are at the happy medium currently, which is why i'm interested to see what his proposals would do, if they would truly have the negative effect people are worried about, or if the positives will outweigh the negatives.

the reason i say upper middle class is that my friends dad works for matco selling tools and he brought in about that much. my parents retired making around that much from the military. people who can afford luxuries but nothing too extravegant.

the owners of corporations arent dumb by any mean. regulations dont stop them. i worked for a guy who split his company into two companies when obamacar came out so that neither of the company met the minimum employee requirement.

i think the happy medium is everything working the way its supposed to. people go to work, buying stuff taking loans paying them off, and corporations investing in the homefront. sure it costs more to pay an american to make an iphone but if more people have job security and theres more jobs theyll buy more iphones thus offsetting the cost of production going up

I stand slightly corrected on that. The tax bracket getting the cut is the 411k to 464k. Not a huge bracket, but I would imagine it would be one more teeming with actual entrapraneurs than people making millions.

464k - 500k I mean.
Holy shit i'm a mess without sleep.

58% of all small businesses bring in more than 250,000$ annually (this is sales, not income). The 464-500k bracket makes up a very small percentage of this, and basically everyone else is having their taxes raised.

You can say what you want about Bernie's tax plan, but raising taxes on 58% of the people who provide 60-80% of new jobs annually could very well have some major consequences.

so them taking home 4% less a year in there pay packets is gonna cause a reduction in job creation?

How does that work exactly?

well say their income before expenses is 100 (i am over simplifying this to the extreme degree)they used to keep 67 dollars. upkeep of the job company costs 20 dollars. theyre down to 47. then lets say they have ten employees making a dollar each so now theyr at 37. with the additional taxes they are now at 33. lets speculate and say that this tax goes through in addition to sanders plan to double the minimum wage and the company were talking about is a no skill entry level job paying minimum wage. they are now at 26 dollars before they get to touch any of it. for every person you hire youd lose 2 more dollars

for the people making half a million a year this doesnt hurt them as bad. hell theyre taxes are less than before. but the people barely in the 37% bracket are taking a huge hit

Its not a tax increase on company income. its a tax increase on salary's on the employee end. And yes the owners of the business pay themselves a wage, usually with a bonus end of year in profits. its adds nothing to the companys tax bill. only owner profits.

Hence why I said "I stand slightly corrected"
I won't speak for his other spending plans, but I do think his college funding and tax plans will be net positives. The tax plan in itself isn't radical change at all.

Yeah well, Im not against it. Besides I live in a state with 56% tax rate (Denmark). Im just pointing out the obvious flaw. Even if there is a lot to gain from taxation, it just wont end up creating a huge amount of jobs, or making a big difference for the general population.
