Problem is, if you read comments, people think Cartels and Self Defense forces (Basically angry farmers with training, guns and organization) aren't much. I'm afraid that truth is, any fighting in the south would turn up a lot like vietnam, or worse, since cartels and SDFs are frighteningly well organised, armed, and know the terrain well, to the point where the Mexican armed forces have hesitated meeting them head on.

I suppose so, but leaving a tumor to develop isn't a great approach either. Excising it won't be easy, but that's the point.

If we just "invaded" Mexico it would be harder, and quite honestly we wouldn't do that... but if Mexico made the first move (IE trying to "reclaim" those lands, which would have to be done by force...) you guys would sorely regret it. Last few times people hit us on home soil, we dropped nukes and invaded a bunch of countries for years (involving NATO forces as well) hunting certain individuals. Especially considering the fact that Texas is involved, I think just members in that state alone would do some significant work. But around the South is where it would get tricky. I wouldn't put it past us to just say fuck it, and cut off that area with a front. Those well armed groups couldn't push through a formally established line, guerilla tactics are their best bet.

But yeah, if you ask me, I wouldn't bleed for a government that does not represent me, I would bleed for my country however. Though, thinking of it, Why not just hand California over for some years?Let them learn what Gun Control brings, then maybe get the proper show rolling.

If I didn't have a few friends there I would say sure, I don't like a lot of the inhabitants of the state (and quite frankly I feel like you guys would hate the incredibly left people there as well).

But losing land would piss too many people off. Bah. Again I have nothing against Mexican people or the country itself, just the bad elements in the country. And it's a real shame they hold a lot of the power at this moment (which will make people generalize the country and its people). I know full well there are really good and honest people there, those are the people I feel for.

I'd say to wait until the next elections here, if Trump were to win, the US could influence a proper candidate, recently the party which fucked everything up (PRI, the same guys who screwed up all the good results of the 1914 revolution) took a big hit, losing nearly 40% of the states to the opposition, things are looking up, but only the next elections will tell, it's too early to make conclusions.

Didn't the USA do that to a certain sheep-shagger (no, not Wales this time) shithole, where the rebels the USA supplied with gear, overthrew the government and started the Mujahideens and Talibans and what not?

We ain't sheepshaggers, we do have similar vicious cycles, but centered around money and drugs rather than religion. Our problem is easier to fix, and we're not that deep in the hole compared to the middle east, but our government is pusillanimous as fuck, our Military doesn't have the motivation, and people have become indifferent.

Thanks, things might just work out, as long as a different party holds the next presidency, otherwise, I'm afraid a civil war might be the only option, just hoping we don't get left alone like last time.

If worst comes to worst, I'm sure you'll have friends up north willing to fight the good fight. Hell Trump might even, assuming he wins, show some support for a better Mexico. It would certainly help lessen illegal immigration if your nation prospered and they didn't have much to get away from.

Honestly, if the US did a good political campaign beforehand, people might be enticed to switch sides, many Mexicans fight in the US armed forces, many Mexicans live in the USA. This being considered, a well-thought propaganda and political campaign would leave the Mexican government alone, against it's own military, it's own people, and the US backing them.
#109 - ninjabadger (09/07/2016) [-]
Something like that would work as well, and revolutions are always fun yeah?

We're all about those you know.

All that would be left would be cleaning up the countries... less than admirable citizens. And there would be a lot of them. At least I think the cartels and gangs are still pretty huge over there.

It is disgusting. It happens often. They're taught that dogs are unclean, and this is one of the very few cases that go public. Stuff like this is common in the muslim world. Sometimes, they'll killed somebody's pet dog for being a dog.

I shouldn't have said Arabs, though. I should have said muslims, since I have two dogs and love them to death.

I have friends from the Arabian peninsula, usually when people mention acts that are bad from people in that region they're the furthest from my mind. And sadly, it's because they're not Muslim. Hell my one friends family had to leave their home because of growing tensions wherever he lived. I think they fucked up a close friend/neighbors business or something, and there were threats for physical violence. So his dad figured it was probably not wise to stay in the area, since they were Christian Arabs. They're really nice and it's sad to hear they had to leave their homeland because of intolerance.

I hate to say a belief is the reason people act badly, but all the evidence is there.
