That's actually a fair point...sort-of. While she wouldn't win, if she were to die it would inevitably galvanize support for the Democratic party, leading to increased voter turnout on their side and a much higher probability of a Democratic victory.

DVa isn't that bad. Shes good at rekking turret nests, I like her as a bastion counter as well. I like to rush into 1v1's with her to turn the tides in our favour too. She's tricky and definitely hard to use unless you're very clever with map awareness since everyone loves to focus her down.

I just noticed you were the one who was talking about genji's skill floor/ceiling a while back(I read your comment). Same can be applied to D'Va, mostly due to boosters and extra lives and how effective her blaster is. Personally, I can't wait for D'Va boost, it will only make things easier for me.

D'Va is not bad at all.
As questionableferret said there used to be a lot of D'Vas but not anymore. That's because you have to learn to be disruptive and effective as her. A lot of noobs were taking her, then learned not to, hence bad name.
I know speaking from personal experience is usually a bad idea, but I really enjoy playing as D'Va and I usually get between 4.0 and 18.0 K Ratio, usually with between 1 to 4 gold medals and one of the best objective times.

You just gotta know how.

It's not even a matter of my computer's power, because switching to max settings only drops me by a mere few fps.

I prefer to play shooters (and most games) with a controller. It's easier, more accurate, and my wrists don't get sore.

I did exaggerate a little bit on this point, because I remember comparing all the buyable weapons and they seem more like "sidegrades", but with a bit larger "stat budgets" (though that's more of a Destiny term).

I spent 10 minutes just trying to set up the sticks on one of the aircraft types (the small fighter or something) and it just didn't work out. I had an easier time flying a helicopter in Battlefield 4 before I changed that one setting and it became almost second nature.

I'm usually amazing at shooters (and I'm not bullshitting like that faggot "journalist" who said that Dark Souls was "too hard", I mean in games like Destiny or Halo 4, it was shit like I had like 5000 points while the second highest in the game was 1500), so I figured it was just going to be one of those games I would have to git gud at, but even after giving it some time and practice, I still couldn't do shit. And this point I'm not exaggerating at all; I put literally an entire extended magazine of shotgun into someone's back before they turned around and shit on my face.

I don't know, I think I was the blue guys for my entire playtime because my buddy hates the purples "because they're faggots".

Sounds like your bottleneck isn't the GPU then. Care to share your specs? 6GB of RAM and a 4-core desktop CPU as are the minimum requirements?

That's like saying Skyrim is unbalanced because it uses a completely and totally different system of levels and skills than Dark Souls. Stat budgets aren't a thing in Planetside.

Fly with a mouse or you'll get killed everytime you fly. There is no auto-aim offered by the game, you will hit absolutely nothing with that controller. And stop trying to play other games; the aircraft in Planetside are a mixture of BF's jet and helicopter combined. Both wing lift and hover motion are involved, and using either one too much or too little will render you useless in the battle or dead by AA.

Ditto, I destroy at games like CoD, BF, Dirty Bomb, etc. But those are gay purple horse, twitch shooters with entirely different mechanics. But when I play PS2, I'm not that great. It's a game about tactical awareness AND skill, and sometimes you can just be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It's a part of the game and not many people will pull off huge K/D ratios like in CoD.

If you don't like that, it's totally fine. You aren't a skrublord, you just don't like the kind of game it offers. Move on and have fun. But bashing the game and flat out lying about mechanics does make you a dick.

To be fair, I would imagine it being a thing in most games. You know what I mean by "stat budgets", right? Like every gun gets 30 points to put into things like range, accuracy, stability, etc. and some excel in some of those ways.

I actually HATE auto-aim in games. Like, on the VERY rare occasions I play Halo 5, trying to hit a specific target but it auto-aiming at another has gotten me killed many times. I seriously wish that were either disabled or toggleable in every shooter.
I don't know, it seems a lot like a helicopter in BF4; point down and pull up to go forward. I might be remembering that a bit wrong though, since I did VERY little flying because I wanted to wait until I got gud before actually trying that shit.

I mean, it's still an FPS. It's not going to be so mechanically different from other FPS that I'd be unable to start out at least decent at it. Hell, I switch between BF4, Perfect Dark, Halo and other games like Dark Souls, Terraria, or Minecraft pretty frequently. In fact, I was pretty XxXMLGxSn1perXxX at BF4 and that translated pretty damn well and I was able to do almost as good at sniping in PS2 as in that game.
I'm honestly not lying about anything I say here (though what I said about weapons was more of how I understood it rather than what may be actually true). I ABSOLUTELY DID put an ENTIRE magazine of shotgun within TWO meters into someone's back (I used the term "asshole" because it helps to get my point across about how close I was to them). If I'm lying about those numbers then I'd cut my dick off.

It's not that I don't like that type of game since it's literally Battlefield in space. In fact, that's the main reason I wanted to get into it and why I tried so hard to do so. I don't really have much of a point here.

I only chose blue because my buddy simplified their weapon styles ("Red guys hit harder but are less accurate, blue guys are well-rounded, etc") and I figured that being well-rounded was better than excelling in one area but lacking in another.
I still don't know or care about their differences, I've only ever seen or heard them being blue or purple or red.

I believe you, but I already told you - shotguns are trash in so many ways (they're still balanced, but don't fit into the meta) and there are a ton of factors here. What was your ping, was he wearing nanoweave, was he a heavy with shield on, was he just generally a heavy, what class were you (they all have different HP) - I believe the only class with start-off access to a shotty are the engi and the medi (which have the lowest HP of all), were you moving and were you aiming down sights - shotguns are pellets instead of slugs and a hit marker can mean just a single pellet hit for 1/16 the damage, did he recently use a medkit, was he a medi using his healing power, what was his health at when you got the post-death screen, etc?

Worse yet, you're isolating a single death here. Do you have any other examples you'd like me to explain? The game didn't choose to just magically hate you at this instance and violate the rules and programming laid out. I can tell you about all the bullshit death's I've suffered in so many games, but 99.9999999% of them that aren't blatant aimbots or wallhacks are just me not understanding what I did wrong or making a mistake.

Death is frustrating, but it's an opportunity to learn something about how to carry yourself in the future!

It's not really in space, just a different planet. And you don't seem to get this core, fundamental aspect - it's not Battlefield. It looks similar, but it plays differently. This is why you die. It's slower paced and you need a whole new set of skills you may have never employed in your gaming life. You don't necessarily suck, I'm sure you'll be good once you understand that and get the hang of the new meta, but it's not the same and you may not enjoy it because of this.

Haha, don't fret man, it doesn't matter. For the future reference: NCR are freedom fighters cough terrorists who fight for the freedom of the colonies. Big guns, big recoils, slow RoF. TR are what's left of Earth's United government in the colonies; they were in-charge and trying to unite the colonies and regain order. Fast shoots, low damage. VS are alien worshipping nut jobs, but they have the fun tech. They're the middle ground and have lasers with no bullet drop.

Unfortunately, I'll lay blame on that GPU's lack of VRAM. It gobbles that shit up like it's Christmas. Also, just so you know, i7s are 4 cores but include hyperthreading which can theoretically give you 8 core performance.

I'm aware of the concept, though I don't know anything beyond that. Doesn't Destiny have Borderlands-esque weapons, procedural attributes and what not? It makes sense for that to have a stat budget, but it really makes no sense when considering armies using standardized weaponry that's hand-crafted and balanced using years of extensive player data. Ultimately, this means a "stat budget" would be a non-sense buzzword in the vast majority of games; they'd go through the same exact design and balancing process as they do now anyway.

And why? Each stat isn't equally important and, considering realism, there are reasons certain weapons behave in certain ways. In Planetside, each faction uses weapons that have defining characteristics (NCR: Low rate of fire, high damage; TR: Buzzkillers; Vanu: FUCKING LASER BEAMS BITCHES), so it would be even weirder to use that kind of system.

Instead, Planetside offers very detailed information about their weapons. Spread factors for each weapon in every single stance, bullet drop, damage to distance drop-offs, etc. This means a whole hell of a lot more to me than arbitrary numbers beside a stat name.

If you use a controller, I can almost guarantee you that you're using a built-in aim assist; whether that be snap to target or reticle coercion. For an example of why set your controller up to emulate mouse movement and play the same games. If it's honestly not enabled... hm... you're really good with your hands.

They're VTOL jets. Like I said, a hybrid of chopper and jet, you have 5 degrees of freedom (forward, left, right, up, down) and you need to use them all to get anything done. Choppering around will bring on death by AA, but flying straight will make you useless and unmaneuverable in a dogfight.

Jesus Christ, man, are you serious? BF4, Perfect Dark, and Halo are all twitch shooters. Just because it's an FPS doesn't make it mechanically similar. Like I said, go play Arma, go play Insurgency, go play Red Orchestra 2, go play Natural Selection (okay bad example). These games are so vastly different from the games you list and it's incredibly ignorant to say they aren't just because they have the same view-point.

These games are called "thinking man shooters" for a reason. It's not purely the skill of combat. Sometimes you will die and it will not be fair, but that's life. You need, above all else, tactical awareness. You need to know when to push, when to bunker, and when to flank. Are you capable of taking on this squad of enemies, even with their backs turned? Are you skilled enough at this range combat, can you find that sniper, is this battle a lost cause and you should fall back to set up a new defense? You can't go solo, you need to stick with your allies and try your best to coordinate. You need to play your class properly to be useful.

This is not a twitch shooter like all those you list and the primary reason you suck is because, from what I hear, you choose to play it like one. I'll say it again, in a lot of ways, Dark Souls is to Dantes Inferno what Planetside is to Battlefield. That doesn't make it worse, that doesn't mean you suck intrinsically, it's just a different game and you have to approach it differently.
