Well, the problem is that this specific code was designed so that the new version looks absolutely nothing like the original.

However, if you turn off "positional encryption" and use various "color encryption" settings, it should provide some neat rainbow effects.

Okay, fixed the source code too, that one was because I used to have all the .java files online, and forgot to change the file extension when I switched to a ZIP.

And no problem, haven't got much else to do with my day

Ah okay, that sounds like an easy thing to forget. With some tweaking, the source code could probably be used to make a good picture glitching program. Now I just need to learn Java.

Oh, wow, didn't even notice the link had gone down - thanks for letting me know!

I fixed it up, it should work now, at the very least it now works on my end. I think the issue was some weird bug with the html editor I use.

Okay now the program does work, but I checked and the source code is still down. But, the second and first versions work just fine. Thanks for the quick fix time.

Do you guys really mean wordpad and not notepad?
Pretty sure Notepad would be the way to go.

Yes, it's uncontrollable. Yes, the techniques are technically different, but the end result is the same. Glitched "art." The Wordpad method is much simpler than having someone download a program they've likely never used, import a file without modifying or corrupting the header, then apply effects to the file.

Granted, neither method is hard by any stretch of the imagination, but Wordpad glitch art is still easier. It doesn't even require that you make changes. You can just open the file and immediately save it with Wordpad to achieve a glitched effect, pic very much related.

I don't really need to be pointed in any direction for help. I know how to do it, but outside of modifying a wallpaper or two here and there, it's not something I really care about.

This is true, but the art rendered from the Wordpad Technique is also rather less useful in general from the more malleable stuff you get from the extra effort of the Audacity databending. I mean unless you really like analog static. But I guess that is the same as with anything else, you get the same amount of quality as the effort you are willing to put in. You can get some very interesting things using Wordpad and then running it through some filters in Audacity. At the end of the day Wordpad is an excellent first step, but if they want to pursuit glitch art as anything more than a novelty., they will need to be willing to learn some more advanced stuff and put the time in that they take.

I guess I was getting ahead of myself though.
