You do not need to use it constantly like in metal music. I do paradiddles with my feet when I play, gives it a nicer sound.

I suggest it, even in a church.

I've heard good things about the brand new pearl exports. They where over played in the 90'a, but pearl revamped them. You can get a 5 piece with hardware for about $700, then spend the rest on some good cymbals, pedals or other things.

Cool, I'll look into them. also is a double kick pedal worth it for someone who doesn't do hard rock or metal music? Or should I just practice doing kicks faster? Also what are some good cymbals? Sorry I'm asking so many questions

Firstly, how much are you looking to spend? I spent $4,000 on the shells, $400 on the rack, $600 on the pedal and another $600 on a set of beat'n'toss cymbals. I still need to buy new heads and a few more cymbals.

Gotta love having 3 kids at tax time.
