the open doors buttons don't work on a lot of elevators, they're for use for emergency situations (have to activated with a key or something).

I just cut it in half then scoop the seeds out. Or just pick a few seeds off at a time as I go. I've never even heard of anyone actually peeling the things.

The website may say that but I've been there and the bridge is pretty damn high. I think that's more myth than reality.

It's from the X series, and I don't know if the Boreas is in X3: reunion, Terran Conflict or just Albion Prelude. Pretty sure it's from more than just X3AP, though.
It is not an RTS. It's a sci-fi sandbox with a lot of concentration on economics and trading.
Honestly, I think it's one of the slowest games I've ever played, but I love it so gorram much and I sure as fuck can't wait for X: Rebirth this year.
Depending on which gamestart you choose, you start out with a basic ship or two and some Credits. Using what little you start with, you can do whatever the hell you want. Want to make money by pirating ships? Go for it. Want to be an "honest" trader (which is the only truly profitable playstyle)? You do that shit. Frankly, the best way to make money fast is by exploiting the stock market by using a cargo hold of Nividium, but you could also make money by buying a station and producing and selling your own wares. A large Cahoona Bakery in The Wall is great.
99.9% of your time in this game is sitting in a cockpit waiting for your ship to get from point A to point B. You want your Frigate to travel more than a couple sectors in a reasonable amount of time? Well bitch, you best have a Jumpdrive and some Energy Cells because anything larger than a Corvette is slow as dicks.
The combat comes down to what you've loaded on your ship and your flying skills. I used the weakest scout ship with the weakest guns to take out a groups of pirates on my own by watching how they fire and strafing the shit out of them. Even though the Boreas is the most powerful ship in the game (it's the smallest Destroyer being about the size of a Frigate making it hard to hit, has the most/biggest guns and it's the fastest) it can still be destroyed by a few frigates normally. However, if you're really good at flying like I am, you can strafe like crazy and avoid about 80% of enemy fire.
Speaking of fire, the Plasma Burst Generator is incredibly over-powered.
The series is 50% off on Steam. Go.

Is this an online game?
User avatar #349 - funferret (07/12/2013) [-]
I mean, single player or mmo?
User avatar #350 - motherfuckingkenji (07/12/2013) [-]
Singleplayer player only.
A lot of times I wish it were multiplayer, though.
User avatar #351 - funferret (07/12/2013) [-]
That actually makes it a little more interesting to me.
What's the actual game you posted the picture from

Hey man, sorry I wasn't very clear with anything I said; I was falling in and out of consciousness while trying multiple times to watch Game Grumps.

Anyway, the X series is a singeplayer sci-fi sandbox game with over a hundred sectors to visit, each with their own local economy that you can exploit for your own gain.
There really isn't too much story for you to do (though there's plenty of lore for the series should you desire it); the few plots that there are shouldn't take you that long to do but you get some sweet rewards out of them, such as your own sector (which really isn't worth it), a Player HQ, the ability to mess with the gate network, millions of Credits and plenty of combat experience.

So like I said, the X Superbox with every game in the series is 50% on Steam. That's $20.

Just for shits, here's a pic of all M7-class ships and bigger in a top-down size comparison. The Boreas is #7 on the far left. That little cylindrical bee-colored thing is arguably the most powerful ship in the game. Excluding the ATF Skirnir, even post-83%-nerf, but I'm not including M7M Missile Frigates in that statement. A few of my favorite ships aren't pictured, including the Terran Kyoto and the ATF Woden, both with enough firepower to easily wipe the floor with a lesser-equipped Boreas or one with a bad pilot.

The picture is an OTAS Boreas from X3: Reunion, Terran Conflict or Albion Prelude. As I said, I don't know which one.
Albion Prelude is the latest and I believe the only one with controller support.
