Although Frank Medrano is basically my idol, and would love to have his body...

You have to realize that he uses a lot of supplements for what he doesn't get from plants.

I could never go vegan or vegetarian, I love eating dead things too much.

Quick question Do you count 8 core intels or AMDS to be top of the line CPU
As for me i have AMD fx 8350 and i simply have a disgusting amount of fans installed but no liquid cooling....and no danger of cooling problems
i always consider the top of the line like the 12 core xeon or 16 core Opteron ya knoq server grade shit

Mmm, strictly between those two, I'd go with the AMD. It's hard to decide though, as the two aren't generally compared to each other.

That being said though, this www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=27941&cPath=1490 is $20 dollars less than the Xeon, and is still a fantastic CPU and ranks a bit higher in testing than the AMD (though being more expensive.)

www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-fx-8370e-cpu,3929-7.html has a good benchmark and comparison between the two.

My current system I built in 2010 as a 21st present from my mother. I'm aiming around where my current is, Which is a i7 930 from 2010. The Xeon ($349) is only $30 over the top i5 and $100 cheaper than the lowest i7. The AMD I was looking at was the 8370E, And it was just more wondering if they were any good as when I originally built this rig, They were arse.

I also haven't much idea these days as I haven't had the need to research and look for upgrade until recently when my video card gave up and went looking at what was up with the industry.

Could you link me the two exact Processors you're looking at? So I can see the prices and what not as you see them, as the i7-4790K (which I've seen used a bit for gaming rigs) is $334.99 on Amazon.

You will most assuredly not need a Xeon for that. I mean, if you have stupid amounts of spare money, have at it, I can't stop you. But I'd personally not go above the i7 line, and would actually recommend the i5 line for most folks.

As for the AMD one, I'm not sure which one you're talking about, but if it's similar to the Xeon then at that point, yeah, it'll definitely work but I'd still say it's overkill.

Any particular reason you're aiming that high?
