But definitely not a bad program. Just need more equipment for it.

Well I'm not religious so I actually agree with that. Although I do see your point. It's just weird that people almost seem to value symbols over the things that the symbols stand for. Also I am American by the way, but I still think it's stupid that people won't let a flag touch the ground.
User avatar #136 - commontroll (07/07/2014) [-]
Well imagine if people went and burnt money. All that money is is a symbol of how much of the federal reserve you are owed. The bills themselves have no value. Or somebody just shooting gold into space, it's just an object we've agreed is valuable and has no actual uses.
#137 - xcoreyx (07/07/2014) [-]
Well that's an entirely different kind of value. You're talking about money, as opposed to patriotism or whatever else. You're basically arguing that you shouldn't burn a flag because it costs a certain amount of money
User avatar #138 - commontroll (07/07/2014) [-]
No, I'm saying that money in and of itself has no value. It has value because we have given it value. Same thing with a flag or a Bible or a Qur'an or Torah. We saw gold and said "That's shiny! I like it!" and so we held it as valuable, that and because it was rare, even if it was useless. Then we decided to not have gold all over the place and made it so a piece of paper was worth a certain amount of the gold that cannot be eaten or made into structures. It's just hard to find and shiny, so we gave it value, and through that artificial value our paper and plastic currencies now have value.

Do you understand the point I'm making here?
#161 - xxxsonic fanxxx (07/07/2014) [-]
its what the incas or whatever had, they had literally millions of tons of the stuff just lying around, like it was an everyday occurence, so when the white folk came over and took it, they gave it away willingly as they saw no value in it at the time.
#139 - xcoreyx (07/07/2014) [-]
Sorta. I just think they aren't similar enough to compare like that. The value given to a flag is really different from the kind of value that currency has.
User avatar #141 - commontroll (07/07/2014) [-]
Maybe because you're A GODLESS COMMIE JEW WHO LOVES MONEY TOO MUCH!
#140 - xcoreyx (07/07/2014) [-]
Mainly because not every values the flag in the same way. Some people would never let it touch the ground, and I couldn't care less. But you can't just give someone a $20 bill and say it's worth $1,000. Money is standardized and has a set value with a number attached to it. The value of a flag is just however each person sees it.

Think.... old school Final Fantasy, but still not as out-dated 10 years later lol.

To try to explain the plot would be ruinous, because the plot is what makes the game so good for its time. Its not too complicated, but not stupidly simple. There are side-quests, but not so many as to be a chore. You actually WANT to do them, and the optional bosses pose a threat worth tackling.

Its the old-school turn-based combat with the typical 4-character set-up. Theres magic, melee, summons, the usual. But... its done well.

The best I can say is: Try it. The first game is good. Downloading the game and an emulator is way too easy.

If you like the first, youll like the second, even tho it wasnt AS good (personal opinion) as the first (although the puzzles are alot harder and the optional bosses are WAY better).

As for the 3rd game, I havent looked into it to be honest. I didnt even know a 3rd game was made until months ago, and havent had the time to seek an emulator for it.

Its one of those games that I would play in my deathbed just for the nostalgia.

No, a jrpg is not an rpg.

It has some similarities, but it's very restrictive and focused on narrative, neglecting gameplay, like the interactive erotic novels it evolved from.
In my opinion, jrpgs should still be called "interactive novels" because that's what they are, really.
Weeaboos don't like to hear it, but it's true.

Well if emulated games aren't out of the question, I suppose I'll list my favorites from a few series:

Final Fantasy VI
Dragon Quest IV and V (and VIII if you can run PS2)
Chrono Trigger
Fire Emblem 4, 7, and 8 (more of a strategy-RPG hybrid)
Megaman Battle Network

as far as western RPG's go, most of them aren't turn-based:
The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind
Mass Effect (shooter-RPG hybrid)
Dragon Age (kind of like a single player MMO style combat)
Fallout New Vegas

Probably missing a bunch but this is a pretty ok list I guess

I would recommend "Heroine's quest" or the "Quest for Glory" series (you can get "Quest for glory 2 for free online). They are nothing like Golden Sun or Exile, but the are amazing and quite unique since they are PAC RPGs
