No worries lol, they mention the resemblance quite a bit throughout the Expansion, and to be fair it's hard NOT to see the resemblance. In the White Mage's storyline they lay the speculations to rest towards the finale, as the main villain of that storyline is an Au Ra who was out for revenge against the Holy See of Ishgard as her family was heavily discriminated against based solely on their appearance (Which led the Ishgardians to believe they were working with the Dravanians, their century-old enemy), when in reality the Au Ra and the Dragons have no connection with one another.

But Au Ra aren't related to dragons in any way though, they mention it in the WHM storyline, Au Ra are vilified by the Ishgardians due to their scaled appearance, which immediately causes them to think that they're related to the Dravanian Horde, when in reality, the Au Ra's enhanced hearing & spatial awareness granted to them by their horns/cranial projections would make them more akin to Voidsent than anything else.

As a precurser, I dont play FFXIV, just recognized it from R34.

I assumed from the wiki (which I guess I read too shortly, and totally supports your argument also):

The curved horns and beautifully patterned scales that characterize the Au Ra oft give rise to speculation that this Hyur-like race native to the Far Eastern continent of Othard are, in fact, the progeny of dragons. This, however, has long been disputed, with scholars citing several distinct differences in the two races as evidence of decidedly dissimilar roots—the first and foremost being the enhanced hearing and spatial recognition granted by an Au Ra's cranial projections (traits not attributed to draconian horns), and the second being the gross disproportion of body mass between Auri males and females (again, a trait widely unseen in dragons)

Since you seem to play the game, Ill accept your lore over what I half assed googled.
