feels like in Europe. There you have to deal with all kinds of messy streets.

have you met bakersfield? 10 square miles of . . . patches of empty land and oil wells, and two or three business districts of town. giant empty river with mile-wide floodplains that just cuts the whole place in half again. Hell, there are three middle schools on the same damn 2 mile stretch of street. 10+ high schools, one college on the area of town that is on the bluffs . . . OH YEA THE BLUFFS. thousand foot cliffs with two roads up them, and a three lane highway cut through the center of them. going from one town to the other requires three freeway changes and even more railroad crossings. And the pride of bakersfield- Rosedale highway. there is almost NO street that you can safely go from one side of the highway to the other with. Alen, at the end of town, and maybe calloway, 3 miles in the other direction. The streets that are cut keep their names though, so you must know if your going to the Northern half or the Southern half of, say, Jewetta. Oildale, the crap stain of the valley just north of the river is a ton of the ghetto and windy roads, while surrounded by mile upon mile of oilfields. Roads cut through these fields with blind intersections, random stop signs, and endless detours, making it a massive maze. Of course, this is one of only two ways to get on top of the bluffs, the other being this 100 foot radius 45 mph uphill doughnut that is nearly impossible to navigate on a good day, and then you you remember, its a 2-way bridge over the road at it's sharpest point. There is yet another highway that ends about 1/3 of the way into town. you go from 70 miles an hour to a brick wall junction, in which you go either left or right into this massive trench of a four-lane highway that is nearly always empty, because it goes absolutely NOWHERE. Not to mention the triple overpass bridges that go insanely high for no reason. nearly 300 feet up from the highway floor you go in order to make a useless near U-turn onto a backtracking random highway that lead out of town in ome random direction for about 3 miles then abruptly stops for nothing, near nothing, and with nobody driving on it. we got a new highway recently on the nicer part of town. destroyed about 300 houses to make a 10 mile freeway . . . that has had maybe 10 cars on it since it was built. About a mile north of it there was yet another highway, Stockdale, and a mile to the south, Rosedale. it leads FROM nowhere TO nowhere. Pic related cuts off the other half of the city. it takes nearly a half hour to drive 10 miles from one end of the city to the other. For shits and giggles, here is the urban dictionary link for Bakersfield as well. www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Bakersfield

Sounds awful. I might visit Cali soon (multiple cities)...Anything in Bakersfield worth a tourist's time? besides suffering heat stroke, getting gang mugged, or scoring some meth?

Hart park, the part of the bluffs that isn't city, is about the only hing in town. Bring a mountain bike if you are into that stuff, by the sheriff's station there are a bunch of good trails. after that, you have movie theaters . . . perhaps the marketplace? We have a couple of antique shops . . . TBH, you would be better off heading through the canyon to lake Isabella and Kernville to go rafting or something. do it mid summer when there is water, though.
The only reason my familly lives in bakers field is because it is 2 hours fom anything. of course, it takes you 2 hours to go anywhere. beach is 2 hours away, lake isabella 2 hours away, decent mountainclimbing is 2 hours away . . . Disney land . . . magic mountain . . . knots' berry farm (theme park), LA . . . . Most people in bakersfield stay home and do nothing but TV for most of their lives. Hell, I'm just sitting here almost 24/7 when I'm not in class. In fact, i just googled "stuff to do in Bakersfield", and the list it gave was . . . hopeful. McMurtrey is always closed, the churches are churches, a couple of museums . . . CALM is an okay one though. if you have kids, C.A.L.M. is the place to go. If you don't have kids, Buck Owen's crystal palace is alright. lake Ming is pretty worthless, as you cant swim in it, and is usually occupied by a crap ton of motorboat races. Message me back if you find something, I'll tell you whether it is crap or alright.

Whoever's responsible for that nightmare of city planning should be forced to drive every road in Bakersfield nonstop until they run out of gas or die of hunger/thirst, whichever comes first, and if they survive long enough to run out of gas, should be made to run buck naked out into the middle of the desert nonstop until they die there.

Sees fellow Atlantean. Swells with one-way streets and off-angle road junctions.

Put a dot on two sides of the map for a fun and scenic maze.

No, I mean when Matt left. Lots of complaint from fans. Some of them even saying Capaldi's too old to be the Doctor as if Hartnell being the first was young and hot, lol.
