sad thing is war still cant be prevented in most cases, almost every nation is an arrogant dick weed who just wants whats best for themselves rather than the world, quite sad really knowing that the people in charge of the world only care for their small bits of it

It's a growing experience. A revolution will happen, but it will be a quite revolution. Things will change for the better without us even noticing.

For the past hundred years or so (at least in the united states) we have been bouncing back and forth from capitalism and socialism. Right now we're leaning towards capitalism but soon will start moving towards socialism. We'll keep on bouncing back and forth until we reach equilibrium. Like a weighted spring.

As for how things are now, they weren't nearly as bad as the were in the past. We are just more aware of them now. Think about security measures now, they are nowhere near as bad as Mcarthyism (for example). If you don't know what that is, back in the 60's a United States senator started a group in which they would arrest suspected communist with very little evidence. For a while he was hailed as a hero. And before that the united states had even crazier "Red Scares". Yet if a suspected islamic extremist is arrested without evidence in the united states, it become a civil rights issue and is a decisive issue. Progress.

Bah, show a little faith. The world has been in more dire straits before. Shit will work out.

In fact, if you're talking about Europe specifically. I think this will be an important learning period for them (which is weird to say for some of the oldest nations in the world). The middle east, they are going through their renaissance and will figure their shit out. The United States, well, we're continuing to work our issues and growing from it.

I think we're gonna be alright.

I don't know man. Our politics, not just in Europe but in the US as well, are pretty exclusively controlled by corporate elites, and more and more bizarre security measures are being accepted without recourse. Sure, I trust in the people of the world to eventually revolt against this kind of thing, but the thing I'm a little freaked out about is when will it be too late?

It's a hypothetical dude. I mean, that might be confusing considering I said "When" instead of "if" which directly says it's going to happen, but you should be able to interpret what I mean even when it's the opposite of what I said...my bad.
User avatar #301 - morskoj (01/18/2015) [-]
It's okay dude. But I think now more than ever it's a serious thing to talk about, because it's
happening right before our eyes and no one seems to care enough to do anything about it
as long as they can watch football.

I'm pretty heated about this if you want me to explain further.
Otherwise, have a good day!
