If it helps I can tell you that's the little sister from Mayo Chiki.

Not gonna bother trying to find the specific gif though.

Eh, I think Ranma had some desire to be with someone. He was just too awkward to really act on it and there was no desire to research girls since he could turn into one. But I dunno. I don't think he'd even go through with a marriage overall.

It's a shame Tofu kind of poofs after his episodes.. Later in the show and especially in the manga, he has no appearances. Think the reasoning was he had nothing to add to the plot, but I do wish he at least had a chapter of "Oh, I'm moving away. I'll come visit sometime" or something. He was a pretty good character and sometimes they really needed a doctor.

Ironically, his lack of appearance made him a fan favorite I think. You should see how many stories have him in there as either a main or at least major side character. Typically as just the "Doctor of good advice", but sometimes as an actual fighter since he could sneak up on Ranma, at least early on.

Meh, 'least we still got stories with him in it to make up for that void.

It's super bland, I'd honestly say to avoid it. The entire idea is: A girl is able to see 'ghosts' from a spirit realm, sort of like Bleach style. There are "Shinigami" who use special tools to subdue ghosts and guide them back to the spirit realm. One Shinigami is a very poor boy who can't readily afford the tools he needs and so the girl keeps giving him money to buy them and they're honestly super cheap.

But the biggest mystery was "Why can the girl see ghosts? She's not a ghost or a Shinigami." Answered that in 3 episodes, or somewhere around that, and it turns out she just got guided to the spirit realm by some guy trying to "meet his quota for spirits guided" by leading living people into the realm. She ate some food from that realm after being rescued by a Shinigami and now she can see ghosts. That's it. The entire plot devolves into "Wow, random ghost shows up, girl gives money for tools" after that. It's very sad.

Ranma was one of the first shows I watched as well. Not quite the first anime, but the first one I was "aware" was anime. I watched Sailor Moon before that, but I thought it was just another cartoon at the time.

My favorite character was probably Ranma, but Nabiki was best Tendo. When she wasn't trying to kill them at least.

Since you've clearly seen the whole thing, who do you think Ranma was going to end up with? I personally think none of them. Even Akane would have exploded eventually. I think Ranma had more of a chance with Nabiki than any of the other girls, and I'm not just saying that because I liked her character. The others just didn't really want "Ranma", especially in his girl form.

Funny enough, I didn't really think Ranma's personality worked for a relationship. Like I just don't see him ending up with anyone, since he clearly cares more about fighting than girls. Even if he did marry Akane after the manga ended (which was heavily implied on the last page), it wouldn't really change anything. But yeah, I see what you mean with the other girls not really wanting "Ranma", especially in Shampoo's case.

I have to say my favorite character was Dr. Tofu. I just loved every episode he was in; the guy was hilarious.

It's sad since Ranma was her strongest, and most unique, series. Like no one remembers her first one, Inuyasha has like 60% of its episodes that no one really watched, and her latest one is so... It's so boring. All the mystery behind the beginning that could have led to an overarching plot got tossed out the window on episode 3. It was pretty sad. I was pretty surprised to see it had a second season too, so maybe there's something I'm missing, but it got boring for me pretty quick.

But yeah, I doubt there's any real hope unless she gives the rights to someone else, which is unlikely. It's also sad Sailor Moon didn't go for bringing Ranma's fame back, since they had the most crossovers with fan stuff with Ranma.

Meh! Something might happen at some point. Can never tell with those people. I definitely didn't expect them to ever remake Sailor Moon, for instance.

It's all about the money, I guess. Also I lied, I have six reaction pics apparently.

Well I haven't checked out her newest series, but I have heard people say it was pretty boring while surfing through random forums. Ranma's definitely my favorite of her works, and it's always going to hold a dear place in my heart because it was pretty much what got me into anime in the first place. I mean hell, it's because of Akane that I started liking tsunderes in general.

Like you said, maybe something might happen, so I won't completely give up hope just yet.

I only have like... four.

But thanks?

I'm still hoping Ranma gets a HD remake at some point, though it might've not been popular enough for it.
#97 - morphodite (09/22/2016) [-]
Well it already got a Blu-Ray remaster, but that didn't sell well enough or generate enough interest for a full on remake. Takahashi doesn't seem to want to touch Ranma anymore... it's sad, but I don't think there's any hope.
