You've got a fair point. It didn't occur to me that the ones making the video are unrelated to the one producing the music. I thought it was some sort of collaberation, and in that case, the musician (ect.) is usually included in how they should be credited. Of course, with the added knowledge that Macleod is an established composer and of how his site works, it makes sense that the videomakers simply miscredited, rather than Macleod himself. Thank you for the input Although miscrediting still grinds my gears.

You wot, mate? He's a well-known producer of royalty-free "production music". Basically the stock images of music. He produced this version of Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy under such licensing as to allow anyone to use it as long as they credit him for producing it.

Never claimed to write it, he just produced this specific instance of Tchaikovsky's work and distributes it.

Well, it is true that Tchaikowskij's music is now royalty-free, since it is more than 70 years since the composer's death. But as far as i can tell he didn't even do anything about the arrangement, and making a recording of a piece is not enough to simply state "Music by X". Had it said "Music produced by", or something along those lines, then of course. But this is claiming he made it. If he only produced the music, then he shouldn't claim anything more. If someone knowing nothing about music or our great classical composers saw this, they would think "Oh, this guys made that, awesome!" And that is what grinds my gears. This is exactly how I claim ownership of my own music.
