oh no I understand where you're coming from, just thought I'd give a guess as to why he was calling it the renegade option.
I spent a lot of time on all those indoctrination theories in the hopes of some deeper closure than the "pick a color you want to watch this ending in" ending, and I really did like the idea of the reapers presenting the illusive man as being "right" with Anderson being "wrong" as far as the color schemes

think they just mean the red ending. Red means renegade up to that point at least, and destroy is the red lights.

Yeah but Anderson who is notably Paragon is seen doing the destroy option.
And then you have the illusive man who is notably renegade doing the control option.
Is that not a red flag for you guys? Maybe the reapers tying to trick you into choosing control by making it blue thus completing your indoctrination and ensuring the reapers survival

I agree that the geth acted out of self defence and were justified doing it. I am merely pointing out that there were billions of quarians living on Rannoch, and the population of the migrant fleet is half a million. That is a very small fraction of their original population. That means millions after millions after millions of quarians were killed by the geth, and I just can not believe all of them died weapon in hand and no one surrendered. There must have been thousands of tiny villages and refugee groups scattered across the surface by the end of the war. What happened to all of them?

It is possible that the geth realized that if they finished off the quarians, they would likely be seen as an aggressor and a threat to the entire galactic community by the citadel council, who would then interviene and destroy them. However, if they appeared as an isolated and contained problem, the council would be much less willing to launch an invasion. It would also mean that any planets that the council conquers would by their own law still belong to the quarians, which would make it an all risk, no reward situation for the council. With the quarians dead, the turians in particular might jump at the chance to expand their territory. Not killing the last quarians was therefore a cynical and calculated decision by the geth to stave off galactic intevention and allow them time to build a defensive fleet.

I don't think destroying the reapers because that was your goal the entire series is a good argument, because throughout the entire series destroying the reapers have been your only option. By the end of the game the situation changed as new information and new options were presented to you. One always have to reconsider ones opinions when presented with new facts. That said, I wouldn't mind bioware elaborating on what exactly the long term effects of your choices were.
